Busisizwe Communications in partnership with the CHIETA will be launching the Izikhokho ze CHIETA Ma The project will also host a Summer School in September.

Busisizwe Communications in partnership with the CHIETA have launched the Izikhokho ze CHIETA Maths & Science Academy in July 2012. The CHIETA has committed to funding the project and to enrolling 2000 learners onto the project to do Mathematics and Science Tutorials after school, on weekends and during holidays

The main objective for this collaboration is to assist learners from under resourced

High Schools to perform better in these subjects. The partnership is a geared towards empowering the rural learners thus equipping them with the necessary tools required to gain access to the many career opportunities that our country offers. The project is designed to be an intervention program that provides much needed support to the rural and township learners. The intervention program is a structured plan providing extra lessons, study materials and activities to support learners and teachers. Grade 11’s and 12’s will be provided with extra Mathematics and Science lessons. These extra lessons will take place during weekends, holidays and after school. The intervention programme has been designed to help struggling learners whilst challenging mathematically and scientifically talented learners. The project is scheduled to begin on the 16th July 2012 immediately when schools open. Students will be required to attend extra tutorials for 2 hours per subject after school, on Saturdays and holidays.
