Had some so many amazing moment’s recently onboard with the crazy run of long tail tuna but this one tops them all.

Managed to find a bit of family time and took my 6 year old son out late one afternoon to catch some small stuff.
That plan suddenly changed when these things started exploding around the boat and 45 minutes later with a bit of help Joe had caught his first Long tail tuna.

Been some great size Mack Tuna in the Bay and while not the trophy species of there long tail cousins they still provide...

The Bay is thick with blue bait and frogmouth pilchards.

While the run of long tail tuna has been amazing the size class of fish have not been huge by long tail stands. There were a few exceptions though like this 20 plus kegger for Lewis amongst the mix.
Anthony also managed to tick a tuna off his wish list.
