Villa Reyes offers the magic of a comfortable home with views of the Pacific from every room, miles of secluded beach, an inviting family pool and a 65' lap pool at our doorsteps, a kayak friendly estuary, and the absolute tranquility of rural Mexico. This area of Mexico is known as "Riviera Nayarit". Many find it reminiscent of the "Old Mexico", where horseback riding is still a common mode of t

ransportation in rural areas. Travel experts agree that the area is safer than traveling to most major cities in the U.S. The cash crops here are pineapples, mangoes, watermelons and bananas. The fish and shrimp are caught fresh each day. Tourism is in its infancy and the Mexican people welcome their English speaking visitors. Playa Las Tortugas is located in the State of Nayarit. Our small resort community (15 stylish homes) is 70 miles north of Puerto Vallarta airport. Small "touristy" towns that guests will pass when traveling north on Highway 200 include: Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerias, Punta Mita, Litibu, Sayulito, Lo de Marcos, Rincon de Guayabitos, La Penita, and Las Varas. The beachfront restaurants at Platinitos and the historical town of San Blas are to our north. Villa Reyes is located in a working coconut plantation. Our swaying palms border more than five miles of the Pacific Ocean and 1,100 acres of kayak friendly estuary. A turtle conservation camp on-site releases over 200,000 turtle hatchlings each year. Our pristine beach enjoys some of the best weather on the Planet Earth!

While the water in the bay is still unusually warm, some cold loving animals are starting to show up. Pacific sea horse (Hippocampus ingens), the only sea horse species of the Eastern Pacific.
