Day 5 of Costa Rica, we headed north to Guanacaste. This area is where most of the resorts including Planet Hollywood, Four Seasons & Secrets.
Yesterday was a holiday in Costa Rica ❤️ July 25 is known as Guanacaste Day.
"Also known as Nicoya´s annexation to Costa Rica in 1824." Basically they left ✌️ Nicaragua.
The land had three major cities: Nicoya, Santa Cruz, and Liberia. After a few negotiations in open meetings, the three cities decided to call a referendum, which took place in Nicoya.
It was a divided decision, with Nicoya and Santa Cruz voting yes and Liberia voting no. So the annexation won.
The Central American Federal Republic passed the law and signed it on July 25, 1824, allowing the Guanacaste province to become part of Costa Rican territory."

We drove 2 hours from San Jose to Jaco. We are on the Pacific side & the beach reminds me of Cali beaches. It's really beautiful 😍
Last night we drove to Herrudara for a beach side seafood dinner & it didn't disappoint 🙃

It’s two stories & comes with a private pool & whirlpool bath. They are only 10 miles from town but can enjoy the privacy of a private beachfront home.

When a flight is delayed, try to stay as close to the gate as possible. Sometimes they will be delayed but then have an earlier departure than expected.
A family got a text alert that their flight was delayed, but no follow-up that the delay was rescinded. Our columnist finds that the airline played by the rules, as unfair as they may seem.

Let’s normalize kids not being afraid of water so then can SURVIVE if something happens in a pool, lake or ocean. The more they are not afraid, they will try to swim & then get comfortable swimming. Starting them early is the best way to prevent drownings! 🏊♂️ Travel safe! #travelwiththekees
