Greetings, this page has been dormant since before the pandemic. But time for CruiseValue to start posting some cruise tips again!

Here is an easy one : if you are booked on a cruise, Facebook probably has a group page for that particular cruise, where people share information, plan excursions, etc. Just search your ship and sail date and ask to join.

Dear Wonderful Clients, DON'T CRUISE. We are reading about 36 cases in Broward County, and 600 in NY, and in Florida it often says “travel related”. Because they are testing the people who traveled! Cases are out there or developing in the multi-thousands. ON FEBRUARY 20, ITALY HAD FOUR RECORDED CASES. What to do: STAY HOME. We were helped by friends with expertise to make an early decision to stay home, and socialize through video chats, phone calls, social media, or perhaps meet and take a walk in an empty outdoor place at a safe distance. It’s the most community minded thing we can all do!

And now, ballet cruises: as in Celebrity is partnering with American Ballet Theatre -- with dancers onboard, special shows, and even barre classes available. Three itineraries are available: Alaska, Canada/New England, and a trip from NYC to San Juan with stops in St. Martins and St. Thomas.

There are some interesting sales going on: Royal Caribbean has some 2 for 1 Caribbean deals for next winter, Celebrity is offering all-inclusive prices covering tips, drinks, internet and giving on-board credit, Princess has some terrific fare reductions, and Cunard is offering great sale fares on fall crossings between NY & England. I read an interesting article in a financial publication: it dealt with owning stocks in cruise lines, but had other implications: basically said that the cruise population is at it's height now; with baby boomers cruising away; and that demographics point to a significant reduction in the cruising population in the next few decades. Uh oh. Better book now.

One of my favorite trips is Transatlantic -- you get to Europe with no time adjustment left to deal with after a relaxing sea voyage. Cunard -- the Queen Mary -- has a great sale just announced on upcoming crossings from New York to England. A BALCONY room, for instance, on a 7-day voyage embarking July 14th, is $999/per person & tax and port charges.

Many sales are going on during this very competitive season, with large vessel cruises to Europe and Alaska on sale-- many free gratuities, drinks, on board credit, reduced deposits, and other lures are being offered.
