The train times from Vinh to Hue are slightly awkward. Four out of the seven daily services depart between 1 am and 4 am. The most convenient option is to take the midday departure (Train ) which is scheduled to arrive at just before 8 pm which gives you enough time to check into your accommodation and go out for an evening meal.

The only way to travel from Can Tho to Saigon direct is by road. You could take a super cheap local bus which will take a long time, or a tour service which will be very expensive, but the better option for an independent traveller is a reasonable priced private bus service with reclining seats that travels quickly to the destination without stopping frequently to pick up or let off customers on route.
