While tourism is not exactly what's on everyone's mind, I do want to thank the activity providers in the Maale Adumim Region who gave quality programs to families and larger groups over the Pesach holiday. Noam from the Derech Eretz Farm, who gives shepherding and honey making experiences, Uri from the mezuzah making workshop, Oshri who leads desert survival family workshops, and of course, Eretz Beresh*t and Cnaan ATV and jeeping.

With Passover just around the corner, it's time to think about some relaxing and energizing activities ( to take our minds off the situation, even if just for a bit..). The Maale Adumim Region offers varied activities for the whole family. Choose between ATV and jeeping tours through the Judean Desert, meeting Avraham and riding on camels to his tent, participating in a desert survival workshop, making original mezuza cases, going out to graze with a herd of sheep, processing honey straight from the hive, meeting a Bedouin and more....

Looking for an interesting and hands on activity for your family or group? Ami Sinai, at Kibbutz Kalia gives an amazing 1.5 hour tour around the kibbutz, explaining about dates, fruits and vegetables, water purification, solar panels, milking and more. Based on the particular season of the year, participants can also taste the produce. Prices start at 450 shekels/group.

Exciting developments at "The Good Samaritan Inn Mosaics Museum" in the Maale Adumim Region! In addition to the beautiful collection of ancient mosaic floors already there, including a very large mosaic from the synagogue floor from Gaza, ( Byzantine Period), the Antiquities department has decided to add seating around this mosaic floor to allow for future bar/bat mitzvahs and other ceremonies.
In addition, recently, the remains of an ancient church from the Jordan Valley were brought to the museum.
Children are invited to make mosaic pictures as well as decorate mezuzah cases using mosaic tiles.
This site is definitely worth a visit as part of a day's outing in the region!

Although getting back into routine seems so strange when war continues and hostages are still in Gaza, Tour Adumim is now accepting reservations for the various activities in the region. If you are planning on coming during January or February, most of the activities will be up and running.
