The capital of the Algarve region, around 2800 year old, known for the International Faro Airport (has direct flights to/from New York and Toronto), main District Hospital (University Hospital) and the main University South of Lisbon (Algarve University UAlg).

Recently is attracting the attention of more tourists to visit the Mourish castle, Cathedral, Saint Francis church, learn about navigators discovery history (Christopher Columbus was there), Santo Antonio street (for shopping in boutiques stores), traditional cobblestone, Natural Park of Ria Formosa Lagoon (birdwatching, hiking, MTB, boat tours), salt pans and gorgeous islands are just some of the things to do and visit in this rich town.

Just 10 min. drive you have the small Estoi village famous for the stunning Palace and Milreu Roman Ruins.

Faro can be used as a base to explore the region, having easy walking access to bus/train from the old town.

New Year's Eve in the Algarve?

There will be for sure many great programs around the region, but here's a great suggestion:

Albufeira's Carpe Nox program for New Year 2023/2024.

- Musical guests Richie Campbell (December 30) and The Gift (December 31) will take the stage at Albufeira’s beachside square Praia dos Pescadores, as well as DJ Rita Mendes.

Paderne is a typical village in the Barrocal area of the Algarve with an ancient castle standing watch above. To celebrate the history of the area, Paderne turns back the clock to Medieval times for some medieval fun over the Christmas and New Year period.

The event attracts thousands of visitors to the old center of Paderne, where there's a Medieval market, bars and stalls with tasty treats, the arts and crafts of yesteryear, exhibitions, musical performances, processions, knights, and troubadours.
Look out for the Jousting Tournaments.

We are experiencing an amazing weather this December in the Algarve region, i go out and see people sunbathing, hiking, enjoying the outdoors with many activities, feels like Spring with temperatures of 19°C during this gorgeous sunny days.

Located in the Algarve region, this old city goes back to Pre-historic times, thousands of years b.C., becoming an important Muslim town from 8th to 13th centuries, as capital of the Algarve.

Portuguese in 1442, took control of the town and the rest of the region establishing the boarders of Continental Portugal.

Main visiting attractions are the Medieval castle, Catholic Cathedral, old Bridge and local Market where you can find the traditional local products, sweets, fruits, vegetables, honey, fish and more.

Good news folks! :)

New Service to Faro, Portugal

Beginning May 24, United will be the first and only airline to directly connect the United States and Faro, Portugal, with its new service from New York/Newark.

The new flight will make it easy for U.S. customers to visit Portugal's Algarve region, home to some of the country's most scenic beaches and striking historic sites.

The flight will operate four times a week on a Boeing 757-200. United currently serves more destinations in Portugal than all U.S. carriers with its existing year-round service between New York/Newark-Lisbon, as well as seasonal service between Washington/Dulles-Lisbon, New York/Newark-Porto and New York/Newark-Ponta Delgada, Azores.

Located in the Eastern Algarve region, known for being off the beaten path destination, with a charming and historic old town splitted in half by Gilão river.

The Roman bridge, Moorish castle, Igreja Santa Maria, Convento da Graça, Igreja da Misericórdia and Moorish villas ruins are some of the main monuments to visit. But also the Ria Formosa lagoon, salt lakes and the island.

Why You must visit Lagos

Located in the Algarve region, known for its castle, navigators discovery history, cliffs and gorgeous beaches. Using the wooden steps for easier access to the sandy covy wonders. The cliffs of Ponta da Piedade (one of the most gorgeous landscape in Europe) offer stunning views of the headland, bay, lighthouse and nearby towns.

The castle, Saint Anthony church, museum, fort Tip of the Flag, slavery museum, Saint Mary church, statue of Henry The Navigator are some of the monuments to visit.

Countryside, Coastline and Urban adventure in one day

Multi family group of 13 Brazilians (10 adults with 3 kids) had the nost amazing day in the Algarve.

Starting from a 5 star Albufeira resort hotel, situaded by the gorgeous Santa Eulalia beach and cliffs, headed for the inland of the Algarve to a several century old family winery farm, where our guests had a delicious lunch with wine tasting outdoors under a 2000 year old olive tree, surrounded by vineyards. How perfect is that?!

The afternoon was passed in Lagos, exploring the natural beauties of Ponta da Piedade, finishing in the old town.

What a great and complete experience combining the countryside, food and wine, natural beauty cliffs and the history/arquitecture of the old town.
