Did you know that 87% of families with a loved one on the autism spectrum don’t take vacations? But here’s the thing - 93% of them would if they had more information about helpful resources and accommodations. Sometimes, starting with small trips can make a huge difference and boost your confidence for future adventures. Imagine a place where you can relax and enjoy your vacation without worrying about a thing. Certified Autism Resort Centers are like little pockets of paradise designed just for that. Take Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos, for example. These resorts are not just any resorts - they are advanced certified autism centers with specially trained nannies who understand and cater to guests on the spectrum. From one-on-one buddies to give you a break and ensure your family has a wonderful time, to a range of services that make your stay as smooth as can be, these resorts are a game-changer for families. So why not start planning with Audrey

⚠️ Friendly PSA from your Travel Advisor

📌 If you want to travel over Spring Break, this Summer (March-August) or even the holidays (Nov-Dec) start planning like….YESTERDAY 😉

📌 Pricing is up. . . everywhere. That includes all things travel. What you could get for 3k a few years ago, simply is not available now: it could be double at least. I have zero control over pricing, and cannot create and give discounts, myself. I will however always apply whatever promotions I can from the companies. I ask that you please set your expectations realistically. I’m sorry, but I don’t have access to some secret vault with bargain prices on airfare, although trust me I wish I did. 🙃

📌”Deals” are harder and harder to come by. So if one pops up, and I share it, if you love it snag it. Gambling time to see if the price comes down may leave you with less than ideal options and/or increased pricing. Resorts are booked or sold out, and then they have no need to offer "deals.”

📌Availability is already low for summer travel. This is not a scare tactic - it’s honest and based on my research for current client requests for Disney, all inclusive, cruises, and more. Summer is prime travel time.

📌 If you use a travel advisor (even if it’s not me) please, please don’t waste our time looking up trips that you aren’t sure will happen. The internet is for looking, we’re here for advising, planning and booking. I want to help everyone, but there aren’t enough hours in the day. Please don’t ask to “pick my brain” or for multiple quotes, if you have no intention of traveling or if you intend to book on your own. And above that, please don’t “ghost” me. If you decide something isn’t what you want, you’re not ready, etc you can tell me! Because that feels a lot better than following up with you 3 times to be left on read.

💜 I try to reserve my evenings after 7pm as well Sundays for my family. That is obviously not happening consistently during busy season. I’ve answered and requoted as late as 10pm this week. I truly do go above and beyond for my clients.

I promise I’m not trying to single out anyone AND I’m doing the best I can. I know my job looks like fun. It is, and I absolutely love it. What you don’t see is the hours I spend quoting yours and dozens others potential trips each day, hours looking for the best deals and applying promos to cureent client bookings to lower the price, hours on the phone when something goes wrong with a client’s trip, the work I put in to creating guides for my clients and other helpful tip sheets, and the amount of time I spend “behind the scenes” making my clients happy. We all ask that you respect what we do, just like you would expect in your own place of employment.

If you made it this far - you’re dynamite, and I am grateful for you and your support. A travel agent can be the greatest asset of your vacation! We take so much of the work away from you and help you have a vacation with minimal stress and so much fun. My greatest joy in this is hearing about how many memories you made.

I’m so excited for all the vacays already booked, and all the new and repeat clients I’ll get to send on their dream trips this year! ✈️

**inspired by a fellow travel advisor, thank you!**

Is there a more magical moment ✨️

You walk onto main street Walt Disney World 🌎 and the first thing you see is the beautiful Cinderella Castle 🏰

This moment always brings tears to my eyes.
Then, watching your child see the magic and feeling it ✨️ (or those of children around you)
I can smell the popcorn 🍿

Costa Rica is a beautiful country known for its stunning natural beauty and eco-friendly adventures.

Here are some tips for traveling to Costa Rica:

1. **Pack appropriately**: Costa Rica has a tropical climate, so pack lightweight and breathable clothing. Don't forget essentials like sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle.

2. **Explore the national parks**: Costa Rica is home to amazing national parks and reserves with diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Don't miss visiting places like Manuel Antonio National Park, Arenal Volcano National Park, and Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.

3. **Try the local cuisine**: Costa Rican food is delicious. Be sure to try traditional dishes like Gallo Pinto (rice and beans), Casado (a typical meal with rice, beans, plantains, salad, and meat), and ceviche.

4. **Respect the environment**: Costa Rica takes pride in its natural beauty and conservation efforts. Make sure to follow eco-friendly practices, such as not littering and supporting sustainable tourism initiatives.

5. **Get off the beaten path**: While popular tourist spots are great, consider exploring lesser-known areas to get a more authentic experience of Costa Rica.

Enjoy your trip to Costa Rica!

Traveling with a child or family member who has autism can present unique challenges. Here are some tips for traveling with someone with autism:

1. Plan Ahead: Create a detailed itinerary and schedule for the trip. This can help reduce anxiety and provide a sense of structure for the individual with autism.

2. Pack Comfort Items: Bring comfort items such as favorite toys, snacks, or sensory tools to help your loved one feel more at ease during travel.

3. Choose Autism-Friendly Accommodations: Look for hotels, resorts, or accommodations that are autism-friendly and offer accommodations for individuals with autism.

4. Notify Airlines and Transportation Providers: Inform airlines, trains, or other transportation providers about your loved one's autism and any specific needs they may have. This can help them provide appropriate assistance during travel.

5. Plan for Sensory Overload: Be prepared for sensory overload in crowded or noisy environments. Consider noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, or other sensory tools to help manage sensory input.

6. Create Visual Supports: Use visual supports such as schedules, social stories, or picture cards to help your loved one understand what to expect during travel.

7. Take Breaks: Allow for regular breaks and downtime during travel to prevent sensory overload and reduce stress for your loved one.

8. Be Flexible: Understand that travel can be unpredictable, and be prepared to adapt to changes in plans or routines. Stay patient and flexible to help your loved one feel more comfortable during travel.

Remember, every individual with autism is unique, so it's important to tailor your travel plans to meet their specific needs and preferences.

Iceland was formed by some pretty harsh phenomena: volcanoes and glaciers. Much of the
country was carved out by slow-moving glaciers, chewing up the land and gouging deep valleys
into it. But, contrary to popular belief, trees DO grow in Iceland.

However, when the Vikings arrived, they forested the crap out of it, cutting down almost all the native trees in the country.
Today, reforestation is being attempted, but you'll still definitely notice the lack of forests when
you visit.

Geysir Hot Spring Area is one of the most popular tourist stop in Iceland. The geothermal field
is believed to have a surface area of approximately 3 km². Most of the springs are aligned along a 100m wide strip of land running in the same direction as the tectonic lines in the area, from south to southwest.

Iceland was settled by Vikings from Norway sometime in the 800s. This fact makes Iceland a
fairly “young” country when it comes to settlement, and also contributes to its distinct cultural background.

The Icelandic horses in the country today are unique in the fact that they are direct
descendants from the horses the Vikings first brought over from mainland Europe.

The bright dancing lights of the aurora are actually collisions between electrically charged
particles from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere. The lights are seen above the
magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres. They are known as 'Aurora borealis'
in the north and 'Aurora australis' in the south.
Auroral displays appear in many colors although pale green and pink are the most common.
Shades of red, yellow, green, blue, and violet have been reported. The lights appear in many
forms from patches or scattered clouds of light to streamers, arcs, rippling curtains or shooting
rays that light up the sky with an eerie glow.

Icelandic cuisine, the cuisine of Iceland, has a long history. Important parts of Icelandic cuisine
are lamb, dairy, and fish, the latter due to Iceland being surrounded by ocean.

The flavors of this
traditional country food originate in its preservation methods; pickling in fermented whey or brine, drying, and smoking.
