Is Abu Simbel, Egypt worth A visit?
Short answer: Hell Ya!

Imagine standing in the early dawn, amidst the colossal statues of the Abu Simbel temples, carved meticulously into the mountainside. Twice a year, on February 22nd and October 22nd, a mesmerizing phenomenon unfolds as the first rays of the sun pierce the temple's sacred halls.

This ancient marvel was constructed under the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II over 3,200 years ago. The temple is aligned so that on these specific dates, sunlight streams through the entrance, illuminating the faces of three out of four statues seated in the inner sanctum: Ramesses II himself, flanked by the sun gods Ra-Horakhty and Amun-Ra. Only the statue of Ptah, the god of darkness, remains in shadow, symbolizing his connection to the underworld.

Visitors from around the globe gather to witness this extraordinary event, celebrating the ingenuity and astronomical prowess of ancient Egyptian architects. The dates are believed to coincide with significant events in Ramesses II's life, possibly his coronation and birthday, though exact historical evidence is elusive.

✨ When in Rome...✨

One of my travel philosophies is to experience a place through its food. But let’s be real—I despise waiting in long lines for popular spots. It just feels like such a waste of precious time.

So, picture this: my first trip to Rome, wandering around the Trevi Fountain, and I stumble upon this unassuming pizzeria that had just opened its doors. It was here that I had a culinary epiphany. O.M.G. 😍

The pizza dough, baked in an oven dating back to 1916, was out of this world. And Lucca, the owner-chef-waiter, greeted me with a smile, knowing exactly the kind of impact his pizza would have on my taste buds. The organic tomato sauce blended seamlessly with both melted and fresh mozzarella, topped with a drizzle of virgin olive oil. It was one of the best bites of my life!

An hour and one glass of Italian wine later, I noticed a line had formed—90 minutes long. I turned to the people and said, “Don’t give up! This one is well worth the wait!” 🍕✨

So, if you’re ever by the Trevi Fountain, head to Piccolo Buco. Come early and thank me later! 🍷🍕
