Day Four: Wild Rambling in Knaresborough and Nidderdale.

Our final day in the glorious Yorkshire sunshine!

This morning, blue badge guide Sarah took us on a wonderful historical tour of Knaresbough.

It really is a beautiful town, with a fascinating history. Well worth a visit!

Day Three: Wild Rambling in Knaresborough and Nidderdale.

And yet another fabulous day in the glorious Yorkshire sunshine!

We took taxis to Ripon, where we had an hour exploring the market and Cathedral. Then, my group headed off to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust. After a very welcome tea stop in the visitors centre, we then walked back to Ripon via the Seven Bridges valley.

Highlight of the day was definitely seeing the car park that I helped resurface in 1990!

Barbara's group enjoyed a leisurely walk to Fountains Abbey, via the Seven Bridges, and then after tea, had time to explore the grounds.

My group walked from the wonderful Coldstones Cut to Brimham Rocks, and Barbara's group did a Brimham Rocks circuit.

The tea shop at Brimham closed just before my group got there. We were not happy squirrels...

What a fabulous day in the glorious Yorkshire sunshine.

My group walked from Burnt Yates back to Knaresborough, and Barbara's group walked from Ripley back to Knaresborough.

Tea and cake and ice-cream was very much on the cards for both groups!

This is interesting - how many of you hike with an umbrella?

They were super useful in Crete to keep the sun off, but I'd be worried about the danger in a group of someone losing an eye!

It's been a fabulous Wild Rambling week.

On Tuesday evening, booking opened for the Malvern Hills holiday next March, and it sold out within four hours!

Yesterday evening, booking opened for the Ilkley Rambling and Pilates weekend next January, and there are just a couple of rooms remaining!

The Wild Rambling Malvern Hills holiday sold out in 3 hours, 55 minutes and 11 seconds last night!

Bookings open at 7pm tonight for the Ilkley Rambling and Pilates weekend - can we beat that record?!

I think this fabulous 360 degree view encapsulates such a large proportion of the places we will be visiting on the Wild Rambling holiday in the Brecon Beacon in May!

The lovely market town of Abergavenny of course, and Sugar Loaf and Deri, Blorenge, and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Over there is Skirrid Mountain, and on its lower flanks, you can probably see our fabulous accommodation Wonderful Escapes at Wern-y-Cwm Farm!

Wow, what a 360 shot of sunny Abergavenny this is! The camera is hovering over the River Usk at Castle Meadows here, with dragon's breath hovering beneath the Blorenge.
