How many of you have a booked a women only guided walking holiday this year? How many of you have booked more than one?

Perhaps you have time for one more - Wild Rambling has one room left on three holidays this year: The Brecon Beacons in May, Dartington in Devon in July (in association with Her on a Hill ), and Exmoor in September.

Hi, Barbara here in sunny London posting this week on Womens Outdoor Holidays.
I have been guiding walking holidays and day walks in the UK for the last 25 years firstly for the wonderful Diana Clarke and more recently for Clare Kelly at Her on a Hill and Helen Venus at Wild Rambling. I've been lucky enough to meet some wonderful, inspiring and great women on these travels. 6 years ago I decided to start sharing my love of London with others and have run a programme of monthly walks in and around London since then. I hope that, on these walks, I help others discover the hidden, fascinating, quirky and historic parts of London. Fabulous holiday ideas from Her on a Hill!

I went to Tunisia in 1980, and Dad and I went on a camel to visit the cave dwellings used for Tatooine in Star Wars. It was fabulous, and if I had any spare holiday, I would love to do this holiday :-)

One of the things I love doing when I plan a Wild Rambling holiday is to look for little extras which make the trip special.

We had a fabulous time in Derbyshire last weekend. The weather was incredible - very cold (minus 5 one night!), but with beautiful blue skies during the day. All the trees and bushes were sparkling with thick frost, particularly on the Saturday, which made the walks just magical. I couldn't stop smiling!

New WR guide Debbie and I led the groups on walks in the beautiful National Forest around the hostel on Saturday, and then we headed out to Calke Abbey on Sunday to enjoy it's stunning grounds.

Back at the hostel, Sarah led much welcomed Pilates sessions to stretch our tired muscles after the walks, which the group loved. Then her apron went back on to serve us some warming hearty meals, accompanied by Girl Friday Tracy.

Many thanks to Debbie, Sarah and Tracy for their very hard work, and all of the wonderful women who joined us for what was hopefully the first of many January Walking and Pilates Weekends!

In the final hours of 2024, let's look back on what was a totally fabulous Wild Rambling Year. So many fabulous walks, so many wonderful women. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who came along.
