Not everything in Greece is thousands of years old. The island of Santorini is absolutely iconic, and a gorgeous place to spend the day. Our patience paid off while navigating the crowds, and we were able to take in some absolutely breathtaking views of the village of Oia and the Aegean Sea. A nice bonus of sailing around Greece with - the destinations located near enough to allow the ship to stay in port much longer than a typical Caribbean cruise. No rushing back to the ship in the middle of the afternoon - we were able to enjoy a long, leisurely day exploring the beauty of Santorini.

🚨Weather Update From Universal Orlando Resort🚨 The Orlando area theme parks are closely monitoring storm progress, and making decisions about operations as more information becomes available. Universal Orlando has just announced that Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk will close at 2 PM tomorrow, October 9, and remain closed through Thursday, October 10. See the graphic for more information about further changes and cancellations.

The Terrace Houses of Ephesus give travelers a breathtaking opportunity to step back in time as far as 100BC for a look at the lives of some of the wealthiest citizens of the ancient Roman Empire. Also called “The Houses of the Rich”, the luxury villas featured surprisingly modern features, including hot and cold running water, and forced air heating. You can even get a look at ancient Roman toilets! The excavation site is covered by a protective roof, to prevent the stunning mosaics and painted frescos from fading in the sun. Two complete houses out of the original six have been completely excavated and are open to the public. On our way to the houses, we also got a view of the Roman gymnasium (school) and the stadium, the site of sporting events and gladiator battles.

Good morning from Kusadasi, Türkiye 🇹🇷! Fun fact:Nutella’s hazelnuts come from this gorgeous country which is actually mostly in Asia. Kusadasi is the jumping off point to visit Ephesus, an ancient city full of Roman and early Christian history. We’ll be touring the Terraced Houses of Ephesus, ancient Roman mansions complete with indoor plumbing and heating. Other sights in the area include the house of the Virgin Mary, and the Temple of Artemis.

Razzouk Tattoo has a long history…the longest in tattooing! The same family has been tattooing travelers since the 1300s in Egypt, making them the oldest continuously operating tattoo shop in the world. They migrated to Jerusalem in the mid 17th century, and just recently opened a second shop in Athens! A visit to these shops is an amazing chance to connect to the history of pilgrimage tattoos, and help commemorate your own travels. Have you ever gotten a tattoo while traveling, or to remember a trip?
