The Sans-Souci Palace was the royal residence of King Henri I (better known as Henri Christophe) of Haiti, Queen Marie-Louise and their two daughters. It was the most important of nine palaces built by the king, as well as fifteen châteaux, numerous forts, and sprawling summer homes on his twenty plantations.[1] Construction of the palace started in 1810 and was completed in 1813. It is located in the town of Milot, Nord Department. Its name translated from French means "carefree."

Le Palais Sans-Souci était la résidence royale du roi Henri I (mieux connu comme Henri Christophe) d'Haïti, QueenMarie-Louise et leurs deux filles. Il était le plus important des neuf palais construits par le roi, ainsi que quinze châteaux, de nombreux forts et tentaculaire maisons d'été sur ses vingt plantations. [1] La construction du palais a commencé en 1810 et a été achevé en 1813. Il est situé dans la ville de Milot, département du Nord. Son nom traduit du français signifie "sans soucis."

Located in the north of Haiti and built by Henri Christophe after Haiti gained its independence from France in 1804, the Citadelle Laferrière is the largest fortress in the American continent, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an icon for all Haitians and one of the most-visited places in Haiti.
