Zeigler Geologic Consulting LLC ZGC LLC provides a wide range of geologic services to rural communities, archeologists, conservation agencies and others. ZGC was founded in early 2009.

We specialize in providing a wide range of geologic services to a broad array of clients. Examples of some of our services include groundwater monitoring, geologic and aquifer mapping, geoarchaeological analyses, subsurface stratigraphic analyses, paleontological resource management and EIS/FERC RR drafting, among others. ZGC's staff are all proficient geoscientists with a wide range of experience

in different disciplines. We also carry a state-wide annual BLM permit which allows us to mobilize quickly for fossil resource management projects. ZGC is committed to New Mexico's farms, ranches and agricultural communities - we've created integrated hydrogeologic projects with multiple communities in northeastern New Mexico and are grateful for the opportunity to assist with groundwater resource management questions.

And that's a wrap - our last well measured up on the Caprock in southern Quay County. The last couple of weeks have been rough with negative windchills and icy everything, but Junior Team worked their butts off and they will be ready to run wells on their own this summer and I couldn't be more proud of them.

So proud of our Junior Team. We've had some rough weather out there this winter, but waking up to 14 degrees with a windchill of 0 this morning may have been the worst. Some long faces over coffee, but they got 'er done. Two more weeks and we're set for a well-earned break.

Well, the windchill the last two days has been pretty dang miserable, but we still made progress in Colfax and Union Counties, as well as with our Clines Corner producers. But we're glad to be home and thawing out a bit. We will be back in Union and Harding Counties next week!

Posted by Doc Ziggy: Humbled and grateful this Thanksgiving season to be appointed to the federal Advisory Committee on Science Quality and Integrity through the Secretary of the Interior's office. This committee will provide recommendations both to the Secretary of the Interior and the USGS on a broad array of topics related to integrity, quality, etc of USGS science. A huge thank you to American Institute of Professional Geologists for the nomination to this committee.

And just like that, it's almost winter well monitoring season! We will be tackling western Mora County first, then moving east and north. Give a shout if you have a well in Mora, Union, Harding, Colfax, or southern Quay County and would like to add it to one of our monitoring networks.

We've been out of state on a long and complicated job, but we're back! A couple of small surveys this month and then it's winter well monitoring season again (already!). We're all glad to be home and getting a little downtime, but also looking forward to seeing everyone as we make our winter rounds.

ZGC's senior staff will be getting Ute Creek SWCD's groundwater monitoring project back up and running this week, as well as scampering around the southern half of our original "home", Union County! Then it's all hands on deck for the rest of Union and Las Animas County.
