Zeigler Geologic Consulting LLC ZGC LLC provides a wide range of geologic services to rural communities, archeologists, conservation agencies and others. ZGC was founded in early 2009.

We specialize in providing a wide range of geologic services to a broad array of clients. Examples of some of our services include groundwater monitoring, geologic and aquifer mapping, geoarchaeological analyses, subsurface stratigraphic analyses, paleontological resource management and EIS/FERC RR drafting, among others. ZGC's staff are all proficient geoscientists with a wide range of experience

in different disciplines. We also carry a state-wide annual BLM permit which allows us to mobilize quickly for fossil resource management projects. ZGC is committed to New Mexico's farms, ranches and agricultural communities - we've created integrated hydrogeologic projects with multiple communities in northeastern New Mexico and are grateful for the opportunity to assist with groundwater resource management questions.

Posted by Doc Ziggy: Humbled and grateful this Thanksgiving season to be appointed to the federal Advisory Committee on Science Quality and Integrity through the Secretary of the Interior's office. This committee will provide recommendations both to the Secretary of the Interior and the USGS on a broad array of topics related to integrity, quality, etc of USGS science. A huge thank you to American Institute of Professional Geologists for the nomination to this committee.

And just like that, it's almost winter well monitoring season! We will be tackling western Mora County first, then moving east and north. Give a shout if you have a well in Mora, Union, Harding, Colfax, or southern Quay County and would like to add it to one of our monitoring networks.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and in the meantime, all of us wish you a very Happy Eat-A-Dinosaur Day!

We've been out of state on a long and complicated job, but we're back! A couple of small surveys this month and then it's winter well monitoring season again (already!). We're all glad to be home and getting a little downtime, but also looking forward to seeing everyone as we make our winter rounds.

We're just one week away from having summer well monitoring all wrapped up. As always, the biggest thanks we can offer to all our producer partners. We can't get this scale of work done without y'all (especially by having wells shut off before we get there!). We

ZGC's senior staff will be getting Ute Creek SWCD's groundwater monitoring project back up and running this week, as well as scampering around the southern half of our original "home", Union County! Then it's all hands on deck for the rest of Union and Las Animas County.

As we gear up to work with our SW Quay SWCD, Clovis, and Lingo producers next week, as well as get prepped for the Sentinel Landscapes Summit in Clovis, this partial quote from my dear friend and colleague Ramon Lucero sits close to the front of my mind:

"We manage water emotionally and not always with data."

There was more to the conversation than this, but this short sentence carries a lot of punch.

We are crankin'! Chris's team is almost done with Colfax County and is moving over to Mesa SWCD this coming week while Doc Ziggy's team keeps our paleo jobs on the straight and narrow. Last week was Deming, Las Cruces, and Vado and next week is Farmington before they rejoin the groundwater monitoring push.

We would also be remiss if we did not congratulate SW Quay, Mesa, and Ute Creek SWCDs for receiving Soil & Water Conservation Commission Water Quality Grants, which support ZGC's efforts in these SWCDs. Kudos!!

Before we tackle the summer groundwater monitoring season, we're off to northwestern Colorado for a little paleontology survey. It will be a nice change of scenery (and cooler temperatures). Especially as we're off to Phoenix the week after for a job site reconnaissance trip. We might melt out there...
