Our actual crew was and is quite active in the garden of the teacher‘s house. Our vines are growing along the pergola, all new planted climbers, flowers, shrubs and fruit trees are growing quicker than we expected due to high temperatures as well as lots of rain and our entrance plant Alcea rosea is already taller than we are and just started flowering! 🌸

Since a few weeks we finally have some gutters at the teacher‘s house! Hopefully these will help to keep the foundations strong!
A friend from movile said: it now looks like a real house! Yeah!

În regiunea noastră există câteva situri Natura 2000 care sunt protejate din diverse motive. Cele două cele mai relevante pentru noi aici sunt Podișul Hârtibaciului și Hârtibaciu Sud-Vest.

Podișul Hârtibaciului este cea mai mare arie protejată terestră din România, a doua după Delta Dunării, care este un ecosistem acvatic. Este o "arie de protecție specială" (SPA) pentru păsări, deoarece găzduiește multe păsări rare, cm ar fi acvila țipătoare mică și cristelul de câmp. Evident, protejarea acestor păsări înseamnă protejarea habitatului și a întregului ecosistem în care trăiesc.

Hârtibaciu Sud-Vest este un "sit de importanță comunitară", care este protejat pentru utilizarea tradițională și culturală a terenurilor, dar care funcționează, de asemenea, ca un coridor important pentru carnivorele mari. Acesta găzduiește cea mai mare populație de lupi din România.

Aceste două situri fac parte din rețeaua Natura 2000 de zone protejate din întreaga Europă. Ele sunt deosebit de importante în contextul european, deoarece multe dintre speciile încă prezente în număr mare aici au fost reduse dramatic sau chiar au dispărut în multe alte țări europene. Depinde de noi să menținem prosperitatea acestor specii și poate chiar să le ajutăm să se răspândească din nou!

În cadrul proiectului nostru "Activism civic și advocacy în Valea Hârtibaciului. Prezervarea peisajului deschis", dorim să facem auzite vocile localnicilor atunci când sesizeaza problemele de mediu. Vom raporta aceste probleme autorităților locale, astfel încât acestea să le asculte și să acționeze.

The second group of the European Heritage Volunteers was supervised by our friend and master of woodworks himself Alex Herberth from nearby Cincu / Großschenk. The task was to construct beautiful stairways for the Gate Tower of our mighty churchfortress. Therefore a truck with old and almost forgotten oak planks arrived one day in magicmovile...
