What’s the REAL Difference Between a three, four, and five-star hotel?
Let me break it down for you:

⭐ 3-Star Hotels – Think Holiday Inn, Courtyard by Marriott.
Three-star hotels major on being the comfortable & functional option for travelers. Expect on-site dining, standard rooms, and solid service, but don’t count on luxury perks like room service or spas.

⭐ 4-Star Hotels – Think Westin, Hyatt Regency, Kimpton.
Four-star hotels are a step up in style, service & amenities. You’ll find upscale décor, concierge service, multiple dining options, pools & fitness centers. Rooms are typically more spacious with premium bedding.

⭐ 5-Star Hotels – Think Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis.
This is the ultimate luxury experience. Expect personalized service, Michelin-star dining, designer interiors, world-class spas, and exclusive experiences. The difference? Every detail is crafted around your comfort, privacy, and experience

Pro Tip: Star ratings aren’t always universal. A 4-star hotel in Europe might feel more like a 3.5-star in the U.S. (or vice versa). That’s where expert guidance truly does come in to help you find the right fit for you.

Here’s the problem with booking the cheapest vacation package...👇🏽

It feels like a win, right? Knowing you’re finally making those travel goals come true without breaking the bank.

But what happens when the cheapest package means arriving at your resort too late and losing one whole vacation day or includes the resort that’s a two hour drive from the airport which will no doubt lead to a meltdown from the kids?

I recently helped one of my clients save over $700 on their trip and was able to upgrade them to non-stop flights.

No, that’s not a typo.

It’s the difference between looking for what’s cheapest and looking for value.

A small tweak like when you decide to go on your getaway can result in money saved and so much more value added to your getaway.

Three Caribbean islands you’ll LOVE other than Jamaica 👇

Jamaica gets a lot of love (and for good reason), but if you’ve been before and you’re ready to explore a little deeper to some of the smaller islands, here are three I’m currently loving right now:

🏝️ Saint Lucia – Think lush rainforests, dramatic volcanic peaks, and the iconic Pitons. This island is made for couples who want romance and adventure. You can hike Gros Piton for epic views, then cool off in a private plunge pool with the ocean as your backdrop. It’s the perfect mix of thrill and chill.

🏝️ Grenada – Sure, it’s called the Spice Isle, but Grenada is full of surprises. The underwater sculpture park? A total must for snorkelers and divers. And if you’re a foodie, you’ll love visiting a local chocolate estate or sipping rum straight from the source at a distillery. This island has flavor in every sense of the word.

🏝️ Barbados – Yes, the pink-sand beaches are dreamy, but there’s so much more to love here. From luxury catamaran cruises to secret coves only the locals know, this island nails that blend of elegance and authenticity. And let’s not forget—it gave us Rihanna. Enough said.

Every island in the Caribbean has its own unique experiences and if you ask me, that just means more excuses to book trips.

Pros & Cons of Booking a Trip on Your Own ⬇️

You can totally plan your own trips yourself, so the question really should be, is it worth the hassle?

The Pros:

✅ Full control: Every detail is yours to decide — flights, hotels, activities — it’s all up to you.

✅ The thrill of the hunt: Love chasing deals? This is your moment to shine.

✅ The planning high: Nothing is more exciting than envisioning the trip that’s waiting for you on the other end!

The Cons:

❌ Option overload: Hundreds of tabs open, thousands of reviews and no real clarity on what destination to book, where to stay, what to do, etc.

❌ The endless coordinating: You’ve gotta map out the full itinerary, make sure everything jives, book the right flights, coordinate tours and excursions — then you’ve gotta keep track of it all.

❌ Valuable time lost: Unless you’re choosing a generic vacation package, then you’re stuck figuring out every single element of the trip yourself.

Sometimes, the solution is as simple as getting out of your head and your environment and seeing another part of the world. But can we talk for a minute about the QUALITY of your vacation? It could be a quick 4-night getaway to The Bahamas or a two-week stay in Greece. Here are a few things I've found make all the difference in whether my trips (and the trips of my clients) are great instead of just average. Personalization - This one is totally underestimated, but there are so many places you can go with hundreds of thousands of hotels and resorts for you to stay. My picks and recommendations are based on all of the information I file away about my clients and how they specifically like to travel. Pre-Planning - It's a total dream when you can arrive at the destination with the little details already taken care of. The airport transport company is waiting, or the rental car company; your tours and experiences are taken care of, so you can breathe easily. An Advocate - When flights get moved or canceled, or you decide you want to stay longer, it's nice to have someone who can step in and move mountains to make things happen quicker for you so you can enjoy your time, not spend it on hold or at the front desk. Just a few things to consider to elevate your next vacation. ✨

Fall in Europe is the absolute best but what you need is someone else to stress about the details and the logistics of the trip. Hand over the Pinterest board and all of your ideas, and let me turn them into an actual itinerary and a trip so you can sit back and dream about how that Limoncello Spritz will taste after the summer crowds have left. Pesky summer travel hiccups + what to do about them ➡️ Seat Swap Surprises So, you’ve checked in online and picked your seats, but then you get to the airport and... surprise! They’ve changed. What to Do: Head straight to the gate desk (not the ticketing counter). Gate agents are your best friends here—they can help fix the seating situation or find someone willing to switch seats. Lost or Delayed Luggage ➡️ Your bags are MIA What to do: Find the airline’s baggage desk near the baggage claim area and file a claim before you leave the airport. If you can’t locate the desk, call the airline ASAP to report your missing luggage. Hang on to those receipts for any essentials you need to buy—just keep it reasonable (no designer splurges, unfortunately). Then, when you’re back, file a claim with your travel insurance (if you purchased it). ➡️ Delayed and cancelled flights What to do: Check the Department of Transportation (DOT) Dashboard: If the delay is within the airline’s control, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Airline Customer Service Dashboard will show you what each airline should do to make it up to you. ➡️ Not Loving Your Hotel Room Your room’s not up to par? Here’s how to get it sorted out. What to do: Ask for the manager. Call from your room or go to the front desk and ask to speak to a manager. Be specific about the issues and be honest about what resolution you’re seeking. ➡️ Rental Car Issues What to do: If your rental car isn’t what you expected, contact the rental company’s customer service. They might be able to upgrade or switch your vehicle. Always check the car for damage before driving off the lot and report any issues immediately. I hope you don't encounter any of these hiccups this summer, but in case you do, use this as your quick-start guide to problem-solving. Enjoy these blissful summer days! 😎
