Relaxation + Adventure + Family Time = Royal Caribbean ❤️ 🌊 #CruiseLife #WonderoftheSeas #RelaxationMode
My room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort:
I stayed in a king room in Casitas 4 while there. I really liked my room and would definitely stay there again!
Something I love about this resort is how subtle the theming is. I don’t think it’s a great fit for families with younger kids, but it is perfect for adults and older kids.
I felt there was plenty of space and storage space in the room, however, I was staying by myself, which of course makes a big difference!
The one negative to my room was how far the walk was to El Centro (the area with dining and the store) and the main lobby. I always recommend gettting a Preferred room if you can, because they are so much closer to everything, but they’re not always available for agents. It was a good 10-minute walk to my room from the main area of the resort.
I also want to note that I did NOT stay in the Tower, I stayed in the older section of the resort. I have toured the tower though and the rooms are much more modern and elegant than the Casitas. I always recommend those if they’re within your budget.
Thank you to my client for capturing a favorite part of Royal Caribbean cruises for many guests - the staff parade where guests get to thank and dance with the amazing people that make these cruises possible!
Great tips in here! I never knew about the first one and it’s brilliant!
My review of Teppan Edo:
Teppan Edo is the hibachi restaurant in Epcot. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for years, but could never get my daughter to do anything but San Angel Inn for our Epcot day! We love San Angel Inn, but it was nice to try something different!
Teppan Edo is located in the Japan pavilion, which is right across from the boat launch if you are heading over from the other side of the lake. We first walked up the steps into the building and then more steps to the restaurant (there is an elevator as well). We were then escorted down the hall into one of several rooms that were set-up with hibachi tables. There were four tables within our room and we were instructed not to walk in between the tables for safety purposes. We were seated at a table with another party, so just an FYI on that. I have a couple of introverts in my family that were not looking forward to that, but they ended up loving it and really enjoyed meeting the other party.
We started our meal with a sushi sampler and California roll appetizer, which we ordered separately and a salad which comes with the meal. Both were fantastic! For those that are local, we are big fans of Honada here in Kenosha. My kids felt the shushi was better at Teppan Edo, but they preferred the salads at Honada.
For our meals, four of us ordered the shrimp dish, while my daughter got scallops. The steak is supposed to be fantastic there, but we’re just all more seafood people. My husband and I also felt the shrimp was reasonably priced (my kids don’t care about things like that!). The meals all came with rice, noodles and veggies, as well as a homemade Yum Yum sauce (which was fantastic) and ginger sauce.
Our chef was so much fun! He did a great job preparing the food and putting on a show for us! How they flip those knives in the air and catch them is beyond me! Below is a video of a cute thing he did while preparing our onions. He was also very friendly, giving me the recipe for Yum Yum
My review of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside
Last week, we stayed at one of my most booked resorts! I already did a review on our room, but wanted to go into more detail on the resort in general.
This is an absolutely beautiful resort that really captures the essence of New Orleans! I can see why so many of my clients love it! As with most of the value and moderate resorts, Riverside is large and spread out, but once you figure it out, it was easy to get around.
The resort has a main pool area with a water slide, playground and bar so the adults can have fun too! There are also multiple other smaller pools, a fishing hole, surrey bike rentals and horse and carriage rides. For dining, there is a table-service restaurant and a food court that also has Mobile to go orders.
We did not eat at the table-service restaurant, but ate at the food court almost daily. We found the food court food decent, but nothing great. Our experience has been that the quick-service food in the parks tends to be better than in the resorts. However, it was quick, reasonably priced (for Disney) and good enough to get our days going at the parks!
This resort only offers bus transport to the parks, which is a common complaint. However, we never waited more than a couple of minutes for the busses. They were running much more efficiently than the past two times we’ve visited. Bus wait times are also available on the app again, which was nice!
The one transportation option that really makes this resort stand out, is the boat ride to Disney Springs! We really enjoyed taking it over for dinner one night (see video). You can also ride it over to the sister resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, to check it out and pick-up some Mickey beignets!
This resort only offers 4- and 5-person rooms, so it is not a great option for larger families. And the 5-person rooms are really meant for families with younger kids. It also offers Royal guest rooms which are great for pri
Ever want to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks while not in the park? The beach at Disney’s Polynesian Resort has a great view! You don’t have to be staying at the resort to watch from the beach either. So grab a late dinner or a Dole Whip at one of their restaurants and then enjoy the show!
I was able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant during my recent visit! This nightly event is only viewable at the three monorail resorts. It was so cute!
Room tour from my stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort two weeks ago. I did a full resort tour after we stayed there in March. Let me know if anyone would like me to repost that.
