Kiyomizu Temple is noted for its main Hall on the cliff top with a broad wooden veranda and a panoramic view of Kyoto city. The valley is so deep that there has been the expression ”jumping from the veranda of Kiyomizu Temple”, which means doing something daring.
It is believed if a guest drinks from the waterfalls that they can have their wishes granted and is advised for tourists to try.

This intriguing shrine was dedicated to the god of rice and sake by the Hata clan in the 8th century.
The magical, seemingly unending path of over 5000 vibrant orange torii gates that wind through the hills behind Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine makes it one of the most popular shrines in Japan. The walk around the upper precincts is a pleasant day hike.

Each shrine and temple has different ways of offering omikuji, but at Senso-ji, you place a ¥100 coin into a a lot on the counter, as a voluntary and expected offering. You are then to pick up a metal box that has a tiny, rounded slot at the bottom where a stick will come out from. You can shake the box a few times, in hopes of receiving a good fortune. After you are satisfied with the shaking, turn the metal container over to drop out a stick with a number - the stick will fall out of the bottom of the container. If you are unable to read the Kanji numbers, do not worry, simply look at the characters and play a little "Eye Spy" as you match the characters to the ones on the drawers in front of you. The numbers will lead you to a specific drawer filled with omikuji, which you can then read and decipher.
After receiving your omikuji, if it is a good fortune and one that you would like to come out, you can take it home with you, as it symbolizes the fact that you are bringing the good fortune back with you. If it is a fortune that isn't as good, and one that you do not want to come true, you may tie the omikuji onto one of the omikuji "trees," nearby, symbolizing the fact that you are leaving this fortune behind and you hope to find a better one.

Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku opened in 2012. Being one of the most fashion forwarded areas in Tokyo, the building hosts various fashion retailers.
The kaleidoscopic design of this landmark pays homage to the mirror glass-covered ‘central apartment’ that once stood in its place, and the design intent was to reflect the colors and shades of pedestrians as a simile to the particular energy behind the fashion industry. The resulting kaleidoscopic escalator tunnel is made from various tilted mirror-polished stainless-steel panels, and act as a gateway transition into the building.
Kikukawa participated in the stainless-steel construction of this mirrored entrance designed by the world-renowned Hiroshi Nakamura of NAP.

Unlike many resort towns in this region, Çeşme has retained a local population and flavour. Only 8km from the Greek island of Chios, the town has a long seafront perfect for promenading, a magnificent castle built by the Genoese and a bustling commercial centre with plenty of shops and cheap eateries. Popular with weekending İzmiris and with those who balk at the high prices and style overload at nearby Alaçatı, it's an excellent base for exploring the region.

The majestic Genoese-built fortress dates from 1508 and was later repaired by order of Sultan Beyazıt II, son of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror, in order to defend the coast from attack by pirates. Impressively restored, it now houses the town's museum. Rooms in the Umur Bey tower and around the inner enclosure house archaeological and historical exhibits, and the terraced bailey is filled with historic gravestones and stelae. The battlements offer excellent views of the town and harbour.

Sirince once was a Greek Orthodox village and stayed like that until the exchange agreement between Republic of Turkey and Greece in 1924. During this exchange Greeks living in Turkey were exchanged with Turks living in Greece. This was a forced migration of both sides at the post war period of WW1. Name of the village changed from Cirkince (ugly) to Sirince.
Until 20 years ago, the main industry of the village was agriculture. Today the main industry is tourism. A lot of village homeowners converted their homes into restaurants, hotels and shops.
Fruit wines are sweet wines, more like dessert wine. The most popular is black mulberry. You can also find lots of herbal products such as lavender teas, sage, bay leaves, olive oil soap bars, olive oil lotions.
These days the village is a perfect synthesis of Turkish-Greek culture.
