Seeley Homes is Seeking Planning Act Approval to Convert the Abandoned Jessie Hamilton Public School Site to Provide Residential Senior Friendly Living Accomodations. Kevin Seeley, owner of Seeley Homes Ltd., grew up in New Sudbury attending separate and public schools, delivering the Sudbury Star, and playing AA hockey. Kevin’s father, Dr. Larry Seeley, was employed for many years by Falconbridge
where he worked his way up the ladder to become Corporate Vice-President, Environment. Larry was always active in the community, coaching hockey, and building up Cedar Park Playground. He was on the Board of Governors for Science North and is still an Honorary Member. He was also on the Board of Governors for Cambrian College. Kevin’s mother, Joan Seeley, managed the City Centre Mall and was on the Board of Directors for the Elizabeth Fry Society, as well as helping to organize the annual Santa Claus Parade for many years. Kevin and his family are active in boys and girls hockey in their community. Kevin has coached in the Sudbury Minor Hockey Association, the Oro Minor Hockey Association, and the Clearview Ice Cats Hockey Association, donating time each week to help boys and girls achieve their athletic goals. His family has also participated in the student exchange program with other countries. He has a son who is currently completing his second year of the Commerce Program at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Kevin is a graduate of the Construction Engineering & Management Program at Fanshawe College and was employed by Cana Construction in Toronto as an Estimator during the time that Cana built the Marriott Hotel, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and a large multi-classroom building at York University. Kevin returned to Sudbury in 1994 and started Seeley Homes Ltd. doing renovations, additions, constructing small commercial buildings, and building approximately five custom homes yearly. In 2000, Seeley Homes moved its operations to Barrie, constructing homes ranging in size from 2,000 to 7,000 square feet. On average Seeley Homes has constructed approximately 20,000 square feet of buildings each year.
