Just back from Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. Set in the Baa Atoll, the resort encourages a barefoot luxury experience. The island offers plenty of activities though, some of which are unique to Soneva so no time to be bored! Activities I partook in included zip lining, turtle snorkelling with a marine biologist, cryotherapy, dolphin sunset cruise and my personal highlight; an experience with the in-house astrologer in their observatory. I was lucky to stay in one of their overwater villas with a slide 🛝 too! They also try and recycle as much as possible and have an onsite recycling facility.

Last week was the next stop on my familiarisation trip. This time to the resort in Zanzibar. The hotel has recently reopened under the Lux* umbrella and has undergone some refurbishment including the addition of a kids club and spa. The resort feels quite boutique with small blocks housing around 6 to 8 rooms in each. One type of room has its own pool. There are two restaurant options, a pool that has daily activities such as water polo and aqua aerobics and direct access onto the beach. We also visited the village next door and met some of the locals and took a tour into Stone Town. 🏖️ 🇹🇿

The final stop on my familiarisation trip in Mauritius 🇲🇺 was their newest hotel on the island . A stylish hotel with junior suites at just under 65sqm as their lead in rooms. All with seaviews. A top notch spa and gym, with a spinning room, yoga studio and rooftop work out space. A visit over to was equally impressive. A super family friendly hotel but also has an adults only section. An impressive number of restaurants, including the islands only fine dining Peruvian. The highlight was their Bee Honest bar that uses honey made from their own bee hives 🐝!

Next stop on my familiarisation trip to Mauritius with was a night at their boutique hotel in Belle Mare . A completely refreshing concept of zero waste with food. No buffets here, only order what you will eat and food that is only locally produced or sourced. Great room categories such as ‘Bang on Beach’ and no sign of a TV. A special hotel which is ideal for adults wanting to get away from it all.

Next stop on our discovery in Mauritius was the super family friendly . This resort was sadly destroyed by fire a few years ago but has been completely rebuilt. It boasts the largest pool in Mauritius 🇲🇺! The beach is absolutely stunning! For a bit of extra luxury, the hotel also has two bed villas with pools.

The first part of our Mauritius 🇲🇺 familiarisation trip with was to the stunning Lux Le Morne. Set in a sheltered lagoon area in the south west with the backdrop of the famous mountain. The resort offers thoughtful accommodation, all with seaviews. The highlight for me was meeting Vik, who will take you out snorkelling in the morning and cook anything you catch for lunch - all included as part of your stay! 🐙🩴🐠

New Year’s with family and friends at Oblu Sangeli in the Maldives. Such a great family all inclusive resort. The best snorkelling from the resort’s beach I’ve experienced so far! 🤿 🐠.

Last weekend’s staycation at one of my Dubai favourite hotels. Dinner at Heston’s and Milos and lunch at Nobu Beach were all excellent.

Some of the highlights from the cruise down the Nile earlier this month. The Valley of the Kings, with the tombs still with paint intact was very special to see.

Last week we were cruising down the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. This was a short three night cruise as subject to time constraints, however we managed to pack a lot in! A luxury boat with amazing service. I thoroughly recommend it!

Last week I had the pleasure of dinner hosted by at the Address Dubai Mall. It was a chance to catch up with many of COMO’s General Managers and learn about new and future developments of their hotels.

The most amazing stay at The Bvlgari hotel in Bali. Based on the south part of the island, this resort is a complete oasis. Such a special stay with in house activities such as a purification ceremony with the local priest, complimentary yoga lessons, painting using traditional methods and learning to make the offerings. 🧘🏼‍♀️

Beautiful Bali. Last week staying at Como Uma in Ubud. A peaceful and stylish hotel with an excellent spa just outside the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. Activities include Temples, hikes, sampling the specialty Babi Guling and a great cooking class at Cafe Wayan 🍛🥗

Earlier this month I travelled to South Africa to take part in the incredible Gold Travel Counsellors trip. We started off in Johannesburg and then flew over to Hoedspruit to the . We stayed in the Kapama River lodge. Everyday on the game drives we spotted so many animals. Absolutely amazing. Thank you to for organising 🦓🦏🐘🐆🐊🦛

Bhutan, you were amazing - now ticked off my bucket list. The journey started in the country’s capital Thimphu where we saw the giant Buddha, National Chorten, Farmer’s market and temples staying at the Postcard Dewa hotel. Next stop was the beautiful Punakha via the Dochula pass. On the way we stopped to hoist Prayer flags, a colourful symbol of the Bhutanese landscape. Here we stayed at Como Uma Punakha, set in the valley. On the way to our final stop Paro we visited the impressive Punakha Dzong. Once in Paro we stayed at the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, a unique wellness resort, perfectly located for our hike up to the famous Tiger’s Nest on our final day.
