I'm back home now after an incredible week in Zell am See. Already feeling envious of everyone on the gathering there next week, hope you guys have a blast!

Huge thanks to Hotel Heitzmann for the wonderful stay, I cannot recommend you enough.

Lunchtime view from up above Hinterglemm. On the opposite side you can see an incredible red run. From the very top right into Hinterglemm itself, nice challenging red gradient the whole way, about a vertical kilometer. I'll post more later about how to find it.

Been exploring the Saalbach-Hinterglemm area. I can only describe it as skiing on the sunny side of life, just magic. The lift pass here covers 3 areas: Kaprun, Zell am See and Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Zell am See, where we are staying, is very handily in the middle. It's not quite a seamless connection, needed to catch the bus though only a 5 min ride, it's free, and when I was going through the buses were every 10 mins. I cannot recommend exploring Saalbach-Hinterglemm enough. Big wide runs, long cable car to get back up fast, and Saalbach itself is a charming little village. Here some photos of the day's adventures.

Snowed over night and this morning here in Zell am See, and I just saw these guys go past me to turn it all into lovely piste :) There are still some spaces on our 1st Feb trip here if anyone is tempted for a last minute adventure...

Ski Holidays For Sociable People

Thanks for stopping by. We thought we should quickly introduce ourselves. We are a collection of independent chalet companies based in the French Alps — Chamonix Les Houches, Meribel, Morzine and Les Gets. After dealing with solo skiers for years through our own separate companies, we decided to get together and create The Ski Gathering — a company which specialises in single ski holidays specifically.

All the chalet companies share the same vision and the same high standards. We believe that every chalet holiday should be an unforgettable experience for every single guest. Aiming to apply this philosophy for single skiers, we grouped together and came up with The Ski Gathering. This is the new name we use to promote our solo ski holidays. Whichever chalet company you book with, you should expect the same high standards of service before, during and after your stay.

With The Ski Gathering, the idea is that individuals and small groups who would like to meet and mix with others on their ski holiday can do so by sharing a catered chalet. Independent skiers avoid the single supplement by sharing a room. Everyone gets good company when they want it, total freedom when they don't.
