I, Lotte lost my grandfather to Dementia in 1992. At that time I did not know what was wrong with him other that he was "forgetful". In 1996 I got my 4 year degree in Communication and social studies and could have gotten a "cool" job in e.g
PR but instead I applied for a summer job as a home carer and I was "sold". My passion was born - caring for and older people and with Dementia. I "advanced" to nurses assistant fairly quickly and I stayed in the municipal home nursing for 6 years, during holidays and summers. On regular basis I worked in the corporate world - so I got to balance my two interests through work; communication and care giving. I realized if I wanted to make a difference in care giving and have an impact I had to get a Bachelors degree in Nursing - so I did. For the past 7 years I have worked in home nursing, in nursing homes, care homes and psych-ward, as nurse, head nurse and therapeutic nurse. I started the local municipal Dementia team, been active in county Dementia network and I continue to do self educational read/seminars on Dementia and all related for my own development as well as my business. LoveCareRelation is a heart built business - a result of my love for my grandparents with whom I lived my first years growing up and formed unbreakable bonds. My grandfather who got sick with Dementia and my grandmother who took care of him "till she was exhausted" - left me feeling ..."had I only know then what I know now" through education, work, experience, travel, life...I wanted to help my grandmother - guide her, support her, educate her in how to communicate, interact and (re-)connect relate in caring care for him AND take care of her self at the same time. Without the guilt even, maybe - she would have been empowered and known when and how to ask for more and correct help. Now nearly 18 years after my first summer job as a care giver in Oslo and more than 25 years after my grandfather got Dementia and my grandmother taking care of him - I decided to help and guide families in the way I know will help them to "live their Best Life with Dementia in the Family" - so this is my way of contributing and "paying it forward". I started my own company to serve others. I am humble, proud, and filled with both passion and enthusiasm to present Dementia help/assistance in this way ~as family coach at LoveCareRelation. I am both grateful and happy and now that I've reached you I can't wait to connect with you and SERVE YOU
