Dear friends, masters and horseback riding and historical bow shooting lovers!

On June, 17-18 2017 on the «Kievan Rus Park» territory an unprecedented event of the season will take place - the International horseback archers Championship «the Scythians I».
We invite you to take part in our championship which helps to revive the ancient sport type, the lost traditions, spreads and popularizes the horse riding and bow shooting skills among the youth.

The winners are awaited by an attractive prize fund.

We invite you to the «Kievan Rus Park» on the holiday Maslyana (Pancake week) next weekends 25-26th of February!

Maslyana in the «Kievan Rus Park» – is a really joyful celebration surrounded with unique architecture and with plunging into the atmosphere of the real Middle Ages. Our ancestors knew how to have fun and in the Ancient Kiev we respect the age-old traditions. Here different games and competitions will take place together with theatrical stagings with the participance of the horse-trick and pedestrian theatre of the «Kievan Rus Park» with special effects and a fire show.

Maslyana in Ukraine symbolizes the coming of spring and the awakening of nature. Ancient Slavs celebrated the "winter send-off" and the beginning of spring and spring farming. On this day the Sun, which brought the warmth and awakened the nature was honored, that`s why the sacrificial bread looking like this celestial body- a pancake was prepared.

First mentions about Maslenitsa in our ancestor`s calendars are dated with IV c. A.C. (by the way, in the calendars of the v. Romashki of the Kievan region and the v. Lepesovka – modern Hmelnitskiy region). The holiday was actively celebrated not only in the pagan period but also after the introduction of Christianity by prince Volodymyr in the year 988.

On Maslyana (Pancake week) 25-26 of Febuary in "The Kievan Rus Park" will be held tournament on medieval battle «the Knight of the Kyivan Detinetz».

1 and 2 October in the Ancient Kiev "Kievan Rus Park" will be held an international festival of equestrian martial arts "Scythians".

The key event of the festival will be competitions of horse archers who are in day and night formats. Winners of the main, the daily nominations are determined by the results of two days of shooting.

All archers must be dressed in historical costumes or. There is a separate nomination for best costume, as well as the nomination "Audience Award".

Come look at this interesting spectacle! And if you feel you can compete for prizes - register and take part!

The International historical battle championship «The call of heroes» (16-19.09.16)!
On September,16-18 the Ancient Kiev in the «Kievan Rus Park» invites to a grandiose sport-historical event - the International historical battle championship «The call of heroes». About 10 participating countries, over 400 fighters, 21 hours of spectacular battles.
The championship participants from all over Ukraine and also Denmark, Israel, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Russia and other countries will demonstrate their force and courage, knightly honor and valor.
The championship program is very rich. Intransigent battles will pass in the “sword-sword” and “shield-sword” nominations and there will also be a separate women nomination. Spectacular mass battles will pass in the «5 against 5 warriors» and «21 against 21 warriors» nominations. Also on Saturday, September,19 the Ancient Kiev guests are awaited by a great mass «wall on wall» battle during which pedestrian and equestrian warriors and also the medieval siege equipment will be presented.
Ancient Kiev is located in the village Kopachiv, Obukhiv district, Kiev region.

The championship participants from all over Ukraine and also Denmark, Serbia, Israel, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic and other countries will demonstrate their force and courage, knightly honor and valor.
Sportsmen among which there`ll be the representatives of the national historical battle teams, the winners and the participants of international championships, the most awarded fighters will gather on the tilting yard of Ancient Kiev to compete.
The championship program is very rich. Intransigent battles will pass in the “sword-sword” and “shield-sword” nominations and there will also be a separate women nomination. Spectacular mass battles will pass in the «5 against 5 warriors» and «21 against 21 warriors» nominations. Also on Saturday, September,17 the Ancient Kiev guests are awaited by a great mass «wall on wall» battle during which pedestrian and equestrian warriors and also the medieval siege equipment will be presented.
Historical battle is not only a spectacular show but also a full sport type where the participants are the equipped in the same armor as the medieval knight samples we have sportsmen. The warriors are armed with swords and shields, battle-axes , spears, falchions which fully reproduce ancient weapon. This sport revives ancient martial arts, their techniques and methods giving the viewers a bright show.
In the «Call of heroes» championship show program you can also see: horse-trick shows, theatrical programs, the masters` fair, the presentation of a live historical horse breeds museum. On Saturday, September,17 a bright evening program.
