The Noto Peninsular Earthquake at the start of the year meant that sadly we could not visit on tour this year. Instead a new tour was required and we focused on the Kii Peninsular. Ben Weigl did an amazing job of creating a new itinerary. The outcome is a new tour and happy cyclists on stage 1 of the spring Samurai.

The Winter 23/24 Season, our first winter running www.airfurano.com was an incredible success. Thank you to all our guests that put their trust in us and brightened up the building.

Recently vicious rumours have been circulating that we’re only fair weather cyclists ;- )

So we decided to put an end to these rumours and cycle to the nearest port and bike down through northern Honshu, Tohoko. Still plenty of temperature variation in late March and early April.

We had a few adventures as we passed through parts of Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama and finally Scramble Crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo. Clocking up over 1,000km along the way.

Following the tragic Noto Peninsula Earthquake on 1 Jan, 2024, our thoughts are with the residents of Ishikawa Prefecture particularly in Suzu and Wajima where we have so many partners - people that have welcomed us like friends on the numerous times we’ve visited.

We know the people and towns will recover but it will be a particularly tough period.

Im just putting the finishing touches on our "Shadow of Mt Fuji" ride for the coming September. 'Covid Interuptus' got in the way but it's finally happening. Here are a couple pics from the last two days while on the pre trip prep. Cycling between Hakuba and Matsumoto, sunrise over Shirakabako in the Japan Alps and riding the famous alpine route, the "Venus Line" with the snow covered alps in the background. Our Sept 9 trip is full but the Ride and Seek departure has vacancies.

We are back! after a nearly three year hiatus due to the covid pandemic. Our first ride commences the 7th April in Shikoku. Great to be back on the bike in Hokkaido. Autumn can be cold but I had a beautiful warm autumn day over on the Tokachi Plain. A good way to immerse myself back in the joys of Japan cycling. currently I am preparing the bikes and infrastructure to begin our bicycle tours again, starting in April 2023.
