rovePrints was born out of a love for maps, a passion for exploring cities and the desire to work wi I hope they inspire the wanderlust in you too!
The prints begin as an ink hand drawing--using digital maps for reference--and then the image is burned onto a silk screen. The handmade template is used to create multiple prints in a variety of colors. I chose to draw every map by hand to highlight the imperfect and tactile qualities of linework that is often lacking in a digital print. I have always had a passion for maps and love to dissect th
em when exploring a new city. Drawing them allows me to imagine traveling through the city, especially when creating a map of a place I've never been.
