Many of you will be undertaking long trips over the Christmas period.

However one chap in a red suit will be doing his annual massive round the world trip and as far as I am aware not earning Avios or Virgin Air Miles!!

However if you have children or just love watching it yourself (we will not tell anyone), then you can follow his journey at https://www.noradsanta.org/

Why not repost this message to let other children know about this route! Spread the word......

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

The Amex Shop Small starts today until December 22nd.

You will get £5 back on a £10 purchase at many small retailers local to you. The aim is to support local companies and not the big boys at this time of year. If you would like to support local small traders, feel free to share this post.

You will need to register for the offer either via the Amex website portal login or via the Amex app. Click 'save to card' under offers once logged in.

All Amex cards can be used including branded ones, such as Costco and Vitality. However corporate and pre-paid do not. As long as you have set up a separate login for supplementary card holders, they can also benefit.

You can only use each card once in any shop, but you could use more than one card on different purchases. There is also a cap of £50 on any one card.

You can find out more on the Shop Small website at https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/benefits/shop-small/.

You will find a map at https://www.americanexpress.com/en-GB/maps?cat=Shop-Small&intlink=uk-en-shopsmall-index-cta-newmap-icon-cta but this has been known to be wrong in the past listing businesses that do not accept Amex. Hopefully this issue has been corrected from previous years.

Help both this group and small businesses by sharing this post :)

Find local small businesses who accept American Express using our map. Created by American Express® in 2012, Shop Small helps to promote small businesses that welcome American Express Cards.

AwardWallet!

Probably one of the most useful sites for collectors of points from almost any scheme.

Both my wife and I have all our various schemes linked and it allows us a ta a glance to see our points/status from various Hotels, cruise lines, airlines, shopping, coffee shops, car hire and much more. Between us we have 64 accounts linked!!

One massive advantage to the site is it will inform you if your points are about to expire! No more lost points!

The free account is just fine, but the upgrade to Awardwallet Plus does give you a few additional advantages.

You can sign up at https://awardwallet.com/register and if you use the code travelgeek you will get 6 months free upgrade! If you already have an account but never upgraded visit https://awardwallet.com/user/useCoupon and use the code travelgeek

See more on our group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TravelGeek/

Save 15% using a Mastercard at Hotels Dot Com

Normally I advise booking direct with hotels and being part of their loyalty scheme to get the benefits. But sometimes the hotel is too small or does not have a scheme.

This is where a booking tool such as hotels dot com comes into its own.

They have just launched an offer for 15% off many hotels when paying with a Mastercard, but only for the first 2838 users. You need to use the code MC15UK

You need to pay with a Mastercard
Booking of between 1-3 nights
You cannot collect or redeem Rewards Nights when you use the coupon
Payment in advance and in full
Doesn't include taxes
Voucher can be used maximum of 5 times per customer.

I would also advise going via Top Cashback as you may also get up to 10% cashback.

https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/isdoo/hotelscom

As with any offer there are a few exceptions, details on their site, which is most major chains, but even on these you should get your 10% at TCB So not too bad!

Find a cheap hotel in London, Edinburgh or Liverpool at Hotels.com. Book for city breaks or a holiday in France or Spain and save with these cashback and discount code offers.
