The word Meteora translates to “hovering in the air”. These monasteries were built by monks in the 11th century who lived in caves within the rocks. Meteora has been on the bucket list for a while and exceeded all expectations. A must if you are in Greece!

One of my favourite spots on the North Coast 500, Loch na Gainmhich. The best view point of the waterfall is accessed by walking across the water and along the left side of the gorge. No drones required. I highly recommend exploring the bottom of the gorge too for some beautiful top down views of this powerful waterfall
