Happy to my floofers 🐾⠀

I can’t imagine life without them. The hardest part of our trip last year was being away from them for 4 whole months. They make me smile every day. We don’t deserve dogs 🐕 🥰

I have been spending this summer reflecting on how these past few years of my life have gone and trying to set goals for the next years to come. It’s hard not to live in a place of regret and thinking, ‘I wish I would have....’ So, I am leaning into it. This sounds so dramatic 😂 But in order for me to plan for the next years to come, I am thinking about what I would have done if I were 18 again. ⠀

I am curious... if you could choose a new career (not accounting for schooling and going into deeper student loan debt 😭), what would you choose? What’s something you wish you would have explored? I wish I would have done conservation science or working with wildlife in some capacity. What about you?

Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is full to the brim with gorgeous flora. We spent almost the whole day walking around in awe. How do they get so many different kinds of flowers to grow in the same place?? Magic. 🌸 @ Gardens by the Bay

Looking for a unique way to tour a city? Try doing a bookstore day! We were getting a little tired of wats and temples at this point during our trip in Southeast Asia. We decided to shake things up a bit and go see most of Bangkok’s bookstores 📚 I planned the whole thing as a surprise for Stefan and he was ecstatic ( zoom in on his face 😂 )⠀

This bookstore was huuuuuge. It took up the entire floor of a shopping mall. Complete with reading nooks and restaurants, this place is worth a visit if you are in Bangkok. ⠀

Where is your favorite bookstore? 🤓📚

Bach Ma National Park is pure MAGIC ✨ ⠀

I get so excited when I talk about this place. We were only there for 2 days / 1 night, but it left a gigantic imprint on my heart. We hiked through the forest with our guide, Mr. Na, to these enchanted pools of crystal clear water. He meditated while we took a dip and marveled at the beauty.

Stefan and I spent a whole day visiting most of Bangkok’s independent bookstores. 📚 We were impressed with the adorable shops and had a blast taking public transportation the whole day. ⠀

This was our first stop: Passport Bookshop. It was one of our favorites of the day. They had several books by Thai authors translated to English. ⠀

Of all the adventures we went on during our trip, this day will be one that lives in our memories forever.

We decided to splurge a little bit while we were in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. We went on a beautiful overnight cruise with Alisa Cruises. It was incredible. The food, the activities, our room. Everything was perfect. (Watch our Vietnam stories!) We ended the cruise by visiting a beach and hiking up to this lookout point. Vietnam is truly a magical country.

Quick shoutout to this wonderful human who poses for silly pictures whenever I ask 😍⠀

We are so excited to be planning a new adventure for this winter. We are heading to Greece on Christmas Day! We plan to start in Athens, then head to the Peloponnese to see Olympia, Sparta, and Corinth. We are ending with a 3 night stay in Oia on Santorini. Thinking of adding Delphi as a day trip somewhere in there. Drop any recommendations in the comments below!! 👇🏼

Japan must-do: 🎋Arashiyama Bamboo forest in Kyoto. Get there early in the morning to have the place to yourself before the tour buses arrive! We rented bicycles from our hostel and had an amazing day biking around to all the sites around Kyoto.

HELLO FRIENDS! We took a break from the blog-o-sphere to rest & gain perspective. Now we are back and ready to share more stories from our travels last year!

In this post we rave about the Thai island of Koh Yao Noi. We stayed for a couple of nights in paradise and realized pretty quickly why we loved it so much. Click the link to find out why!

I can't sing the praises of this island enough. It is perfect. I would live here in a second if we could bring our puppy darlings with us. Reason 1: There are n

My heart hurts for the families in El Paso & all others who have been victimized by white supremacist terrorism in my country. We can do better. We must do better. I refuse to let the families I know and love live in fear.

“But just as important, all of us have to send a clarion call and behave with the values of tolerance and diversity that should be the hallmark of our democracy. We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don’t look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people. Such language isn’t new – it’s been at the root of most human tragedy throughout history, here in America and around the world. It is at the root of slavery and Jim Crow, the Holocaust, the genocide in Rwanda and ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. It has no place in our politics and our public life. And it’s time for the overwhelming majority of Americans of goodwill, of every race and faith and political party, to say as much – clearly and unequivocally.” -Barack Obama

Ayutthaya, Thailand 🇹🇭 This ancient city is an easy-to-do day trip from Bangkok. We hopped the train in the morning, rented a motorbike for the day and zoomed around to all of the temples and ruins, and then took the train back in the evening. We stayed ahead of the tour groups and had a lot of the places to ourselves!

Ayutthaya was the capital of the Kingdom of Siam from 1350 until 1767 when the Burmese sacked the city.

I realized recently that I haven’t posted any pictures from Singapore! Here is a shot from inside the Cloud Forest, which was a mystical, enchanted place. We spent the whole day walking through the entire complex. Highly recommend visiting!

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose to live near Mount Cook National Park on the South Island of New Zealand. This gorgeous view was only a 15 minute walk from our campsite.

New Zealand is the epitome of natural beauty. I was in constant awe of the rugged landscape. Stefan and I dream of returning someday with our kids and doing a family camping tour.

Want one of the shortest, best, easiest hikes that rewards you with a gorgeous view of a mountain at the end? Sorry, silly question. Of course you do. Ho**er Valley Track near Mt. Cook is the place for you! It threatened to rain on us the entire time, but we made it and by golly, it was worth it.

Gertrude Saddle Hike • New Zealand
We were unable to complete this hike due to snow and ice towards the top. There was a sign that said something to the effect of: do not continue if you are not properly equipped, people have died here. 😳 Since we didn’t have the proper equipment, we turned back. But we still enjoyed the amazing views as we hiked back to the car park. We did this hike along with Lake Marian in one day after our visit to Milford Sound.

The hike up to Lake Marian is just as beautiful as the lake itself. We frequently stopped to take in the rushing river and greenery. Thanks to Laura Lou of for making my picture look real cool.

HELLO FRIENDS!
We have been a little MIA these past few months. We decided we just wanted to enjoy New Zealand and not worry about blogging. BUT we are back and ready to share more stories and photos. We posted TWO new blogs today! Our Vietnam reading list and Phuket. Check them out!

We've been traveling for about six weeks at this point, through both Japan and Vietnam. We started to feel ourselves become worn out. This was more than just yo

New Zealand is an incredible country. We camped on Lake Pukaki and had the place to ourselves for the night. The water was glass and the stars were bright. Can’t wait to share more photos from our Kiwi adventure.

Our last city for Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City! We actually didn't spend a lot of time in the city. We did 2 tours that brought us to the Mekong River Delta and the Cu Chi Tunnels. We also did an amazing tea tasting at an adorable tea shop. Read all about it in our latest blog post!

Originally named Saigon (and still called that by many people), it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City in 1976 for the revolutionary leader, a year after the North Vie
