That is what most people have in mind when they think of travelling in Dominican Republic. However, our 3.5 month backpacking trip with no information or planning showed us one thing very clearly: With the flexibility of your backpack you will have the possibility to see so much more than most all-inclusive tourists do with a much smaller budget.

On this page (as well as on our website dr-backpacking.com) we won't deceive you with photoshopped instagram pictures. We are not chasing your likes or your money. We want to provide you with all the information we wish we had beforehand: Local transport information, specialties of DR, tips, quirks and some inspiration for your trip.
