Hey Campers,

So now that I live in beautiful Oregon, and there are so many amazing spots to ride to and all that, I've been researching how to wire up a microphone to my GoPro so that I can do video reviews of moto camping gear while riding through the awesome scenery.

So yes, product reviews are on their way in the coming months. I just need to select a good mic with the bendy part and I'm ready!

4,392.5 miles. That's the final exact mileage for my trip from Florida to Oregon. That includes a detour to New Orleans and a meander through rural Texas. This has easily been the longest ride of my life, but now I have a personal record to beat 😝

I did 179 miles today, despite being soaked and cold. Every 20 miles I stopped to warm up and said, "another 20!" And now I am officially in Oregon.

Hitting a soft wall right now. I've gone about 70 miles so far today, and it's been raining nonstop. My "waterproof" boots are wet inside. My "weatherproof" gloves are wet inside. My rainsuit hasn't kept my pants and fleece from soaking. Visibility on the road is about 20% in the better moments. Now I'm in the mountains which also have a steep grade in places. I don't have backup pants/gloves/boots because who has room for that. I've stopped every 20 miles or so to warm my fingers. I'm cold and tired, and certainly NOT camping in wet clothes and below freezing temps.

Then I look up and see these low clouds all across the horizon and I wonder why they are so low. Then I turn a curve and realize... They're on the mountains. Huge ones that look black from the lack of sunlight. They are just covered all over in tall trees. Just killer views of rivers cutting through them. And then I realize that for the past few moments, I haven't thought about being cold and wet.

I'm not saying i'm going to make the 250 mile daily mark today, but every mile so far has felt like a victory.
