A very long time in the making, we recently did a 6-day Lamu/Kiwayu/Malindi fishing safari on board Neptune 🛥. There was some rain & bumpy seas but mostly sunshine and flat water. There were lots of fish🎣…some caught on conventional and some on fly. Here is just a snippet of some of what we caught…🐟

Angus and his Kingfisher Fishing Malindi team took excellent care of us. They stood, they watched, they cast, they reeled…and even cooked plus so much more. Asante sana 🙏

Our small family had the good fortune to stay at Peponi Hotel, Lamu for a few nights.
Effortless, friendly and super efficient is how I would describe Carol and her team. The property is magnificent from shady, secret gardens, private dining spots and vibey social areas to calm and serene bedrooms surrounded by lush and well cared for gardens, its reputation did not disappoint.
And they make a mean Thank you!

We were lucky enough to venture up north last week and spent a few nights with Mike, Caroline and the camp staff. It’s quiet, it’s still and simply sublime. Amazing food plus an eclectic collection of furnishings and artworks, there is something to look at in every corner….when you are not looking at the view!🤩

Let's face it, we all love a good spa day🤩...
Recently, my two fur children were treated to just that. They were washed and brushed, their ears and teeth were cleaned and their nails clipped. Both came home and told me how much they enjoyed it.🐕🐕
This is definitely a service Malindi has been needing for ever so long, and I cannot recommend Wonder Paws Dog Spa enough.

Go for it, your dogs too will love it and will thank you.

Is it a plant? Is it a stone? Why...it's the outer skin of the very humble pomegranate. Gritty n bitter on the outside, but filled with little gems of deliciousness on the inside.

Truly, a one of a kind gentleman who always greets you with a smile and undoubtedly has just the perfect piece for you. You can find him most evenings at Osteria in town and during the day he can be found barefoot at Osteria in the beach.

Poke...now there is a word.… it’s pronounced “POH-keh" and if you haven't tried one, you really should.

Originating in Hawaii, poke means “to slice or cut” and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and sauces. This totally customizable dish can be made with whatever you want. For example, here at hq we used pork with a teriyaki marinade and loaded up with what we had available.
