Keukenhof has opened its doors. This morning at 8 am the first visitors entered the gate of Keukenhof. First impression more flowers in bloom than previous years on opening day. Nature looks a bit ahead than a regular year. The flower mosaic celebrates the 75 anniversary of Keukenhof. Today we found the first blooming tulip field of 2024!!! Located next to Keukenhof garden in the town of Lisse. This morning Keukenhof presented their international post stamp to celebrate their 75 year anniversary. The stamps are available from today at the Bruna or Post office in the Netherlands. February is the time for indoor tulip shows in the Netherlands. Yesterday we visited the Vaktentoonstelling (tradeshow) in Zwaagdijk. This weekend (sat & sun) this flower show is open for everyone to visit from 10 am - 4 pm. And there are some lovely tulips on display. Snowdrop festival 2024

While winter still lingers, the promise of spring is in the air! 🌷 Yesterday, we immersed ourselves in the enchanting Snowdrop Festival at Nursery De Boschhoeve in Wolfheze, just a stone's throw from Arnhem. Our morning was a delightful exploration of exquisite snowdrop varieties. 🤍 Afterward, we stepped indoors to discover an array of charming shops showcasing beautiful gifts, jewelry, cards, and tableware. A scrumptious cake served as our unconventional lunch, creating the perfect setting to connect with fellow flower enthusiasts. 🍰 We not only brought home a collection of enchanting snowdrops but also indulged in botanical tulips, dahlia tubers, and peonies. First week Keukenhof 2023 Tulips in Holland

Happy Tulip Tuesday! Many people have asked what the status of the blooming is during the first 2 weeks of Keukenhof. The end of March is generally too early for tulips outside. You will generally find crocus and daffodils in bloom. At the Willem Alexander Pavilion (inside Keukenhof garden) hundreds of different tulip varieties will be in bloom. These tulips are planted in a large greenhouse. It is a perfect place to make the best photos of unique tulips. Have a look for some video footage of last spring.
