Yargo Good Sam's Rv Club

Yargo Good Sams RV Club was formed at Yargo State Park, GA in 1985. We currently have 10 active units from the Atlanta and North Georgia area.

We have a diverse age group ranging from the sixties to eighties. We have children and grandchildren that regularly visit our campouts. Visitors are always welcome. We camp the second weekend of each month (except Sept.). Usually the campouts are "hosted" by one of our members who determine the destination, activities, etc. We usually eat out one meal and prepare at least one group meal. Camping a

ctivities consists of sightseeing trips, tours, festivals and indoor/outdoor games, etc. and always great fellowship, often around a roaring campfire. The campouts are officially from Friday through Sunday, but often members come early and/or stay later. We undertake a major charity project each year for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. We make baby blankets, food bags for parents sitting with ill children and purchase swings, baby seats, wagons, CD players for lullabies and numerous items that are needed but are not funded by the hospital. It is a very uplifting experience for many of our members who deliver these items. Our December activity is a Christmas Luncheon at a local
restaurant. Gifts are exchanged and
it is our social event of the year. Should anyone be interested in checking us out or would like to visit a campout, just reply on a post.

This weekend you will find Yargo Good Sam members at River Forks Campground at Lake Lanier. As we say, we have our own private beach here. Dave brings over his pontoon boat. we go for boat rides. we swim and last night we went out for dinner at Re-cess Southern Gastro Pub in Gainesville. Umm, was it good. We are pleased to have four new guests this weekend Bob and Maria and Rick and Kathie. Also Our member Button brought her good friend Cindy to dinner with us last night. Check out a few pictures.

Yesterday as a group me and Greg Danny and Cathy and Gordon went to the top of Brasstown Bald Mountain. It was a beautiful sight but the mountains were very hazy. We were told that when the air is clear a person could see the Blue Ridge Mountains. Also from the top a person could see four states.

This week we're at Bald Mountain RV Resort with Danny and Cathy Morris of SaMetros Good Sam Club and Gordon Ge**er. Me and Greg are the only ones from Yargo Good Sams here as the rest of our club is ill. Since as of December 31st there will no longer be a Good Sam Club we are trying to join forces to form some kind of group of our own. We've all had a great time socializing around a campfire with a fan blowing on us. Tomorrow we head to Brasstown Bald Mountain with a picnic lunch and to see God's creation.
