7th Grade Parents!

Documentation of immunizations or waivers are required for all incoming 7th graders prior to starting school on Tuesday, 8/27. To help, EJPS is holding an immunization clinic this Thursday, 8/22, from 3-5pm in the elementary school's big gymnasium. Appt. can be made at (800) 432-4121.

Students without documentation of a waiver or of immunizations will not be allowed to attend classes until these records are on file.

Today we begin to highlight our Leadership Charlevoix County Mentors!

Meet Lisa Clavier, Founder/President of Kiersten’s Ride. Lisa is a mentor to Morgan Holecheck!

Lisa Clavier is a founder and serves as President of Kiersten’s Ride, a non-profit for su***de prevention in Northern Lower Michigan. Lisa serves as Co-Chair of the Charlevoix/Emmet County Su***de Prevention Coalition. Clavier provides direct outreach and facilitates Survivors of a Su***de Loss support group and empowers community members to help save lives through education.

Lisa is currently the Director of the Child Abuse Prevention and Education Council for Antrim, Charlevoix, and Emmet Counties. The mission of the C.A.P.E. Council is to help create happy, healthy homes for children to grow up in, by strengthening families through prevention, connections, and resiliency.

Lisa has certification in Yellow Ribbon presentation, SafeTALK (Su***de alertness for everyone) training and is an ASIST (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training) trainer. She has also become a certified Instructor to train others as SafeTALK Trainers.

Clavier has received the “Champion for Kids” award from the child abuse council of Charlevoix & Emmet Counties, the Women’s Resource Center Northern Michigan “Tribute: Advocacy Award” for providing su***de prevention to youth in Northern Michigan, “Shining Light in the Community” from the East Jordan United Methodist Women’s Group and was the recipient of East Jordan’s “Citizen of the year” 2017. Along with being a wife and mother, helping community members realize that they are worthy of asking for and receiving help, is Lisa’s passion.
