Laurice Levine shares her story of living with thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder that makes her body unable to produce hemoglobin requiring her to have blood transfusions every other week. Despite being told she would not live past 13, Laurice has overcome a lifetime of challenges and, at age 51, is a professional advocate helping thalassemia patients manage all aspects of their disease.

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month.
With over 570,000 diagnoses every year and 1.7 million people living with the condition, it ranks as the 10th most commonly diagnosed cancer and the 13th leading cause of death from cancer worldwide. However, a timely diagnosis can significantly increase the chances of long-term survival and quality of life. It's important to be aware of the most important warning sign of bladder cancer, which is blood in the urine.
