Christian pilgrimage in Jordan 6 Days 5 Nights
Amman, Anjara, Umm Qais, Tell Mar Elias, Mukawir Castle, Madaba, Mount Nebo, Bethany, Dead Sea, Amman Citadel, Petra, Wadi Rum
Day 1: Amman Airport/Amman
Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, Meet and Assist by our representative, visa formalities and transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight at the hotel in Amman.
Day 2 (Epiphany Day) _Dinner & Breakfast
Day starts with Breakfast @ the hotel (Reminder to take the Toneh) then take a guided tour to>
Amman: A Panoramic tour of the city that includes a visit to the Coptic Church. Then go to Citadel at the center of Amman. the location includes a long history of Amman starting from bronze ages to the Iron age when it was ruled by the Amonites who were mentioned in the old testament. There are also Greek, Roman & Islamic ruins. The citadel with its strategic location over looks most of old and modern Amman.
Madaba: Visit Madaba to visit Saint George Church for Roman Orthodox. Rebuilt the year 1884 over the ruins of the original church which was originally built in the 6th century. Famous for the oldest map of the holy land on its floor with mosaic. the length is 26 m * 6 m. the map includes most of the cities and major biblical sites of the holy land.
Mount Nebo (about 9 Km west of Madaba) believed to be the last destination of Moses where he died & buried after he saw the holy land (Deuteronomy 34: 12-1) then go to >
Makarius is a castle 32 km S.W. of Madaba famous for the biblical story of beheading John the Baptist (Mathew 14: 11-3) / Mark 6: 29-14). Then go to >
The Baptism Site (Bethany): Considered one of the most important sites in the Christian heritage holy sites. It’s believed to be the very place that John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ with the holy water of the Jordan River. The site also contains many water springs. Its starts with the small Elijah’s Hill (where believed to be the place Elijah was ascended to the heavens on a chariot of fire Mathew 2: 18-1) and ends at the Jordan River. It a valley known locally as Wadi al Kharrar located 8 km north of the Dead Sea on the eastern bank of the Jordan River (Mathew 3: 6-1 & John 1 : 28-24).
Note: while at the site you can go down to the Baptism spot but you need to have the Toneh. You can also attend the prayer the Anba Antonius of Jerusalem at the Baptism site … afterwards go to>
Dead Sea (Located 55 Km south west of Amman & considered one the biggest tourist attractions in Jordan) to spend some free time. Dead sea is famous for its health benefits & treatment abilities of its unique minerals and warm weather around the year.
Day 3: /Amman /Anjara/Umm Qais/Mar Elias/Amman

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Anjara to Visit of the Lady of the Mountain Church. The story includes that Jesus and his Mother the Virgin Mary passed by and rested in a cave during their journey between Jerusalem and the ten cities of the Decapolis. The Sanctuary is large, a newly built church on top of the cave. In a stone niche there is a wooden statue of the Virgin carrying the baby Jesus in her arms.
Umm Qais (Gadara): 100 km. North of Amman, one of the cities of the Decapolis. It has beautiful views over Lake Tiberius, the Jordan Valley and the Golan Heights. The Bible relates that in Gadara Jesus casts demons into a herd of pigs. Then drive to the church of Mar Elías(Elijah): It is the place where Elías(Elijah) was caught up to heaven by a chariot of fire.
Transfer to the ford of Jabok where Jacob fought with angle of God after his escape from his brother Esau and spending 20 years in Paddan Aram. Drive back to hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: : Amman /Madaba/Amman
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Madaba, the city of mosaics. One of its most prominent place is the Greek-Orthodox Church of St. George which includes on the floor from inside, the huge mosaic that reproduces in the form of a map, describes Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the 6th century, it is a marvel. Its more than two million colored tiles form the oldest surviving map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
Then we will drive to Amman, the capital of Jordan, built on 7 hills, highlights the Citadel hill with magnificent views of the entire city and several important archaeological remains such as the Umayyad Palace and the Temple of Hercules. Then, back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Amman/Petra/Wadi Rum
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Petra. Located 260 km south of Amman. It is the jewel of Jordan and the main attraction for tourism. It is one of the seven new wonders of the world. One of the most amazing architectural works in the world. Then drive to Wadi Rum desert which is one of the world heritage site, to spend the night in a Bedouin tent.
Seeing the spectacular starry sky in the desert is one of the best things to do in Jordan. This mountainous desert, located 1600 meters high, inhabited by Bedouin tribes, much of the famous film were shot there, such as Lawrence of Arabia in 1962, The Martian by Matt Damon in 2015, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019 and Aladdin by Will Smith in 2019. Dinner at the camp and overnight.
Day 6: Wadi Rum/Amman International Airport
Breakfast in the desert and transfer to the airport
