Never under estimate the usefulness of that empty oil or bleach container. We see these used across East Africa for carrying and storing water (containers are well cleaned of course). The white and yellow plastic containers can be seen carried on heads, carried and tied on backs of bicycles filled with water for the days home duties. And if you lost the lid, no worries - nothing a potato in the spout cannot fix!

Water continued... I couldn't get my DSLR ready in time to capture the smiles and happiness to see me on their water collection walking trail, so I whipped out my phone instead.
It's better to capture the perfect moment, than the perfect shot I feel.

Have you ever tried drinking your tea from a saucer like this? It's the norm in many parts of India and the secret is that it cools the chai down faster (if you have never burnt your mouth on piping hot chai then you have not lived!)
Aside from capturing one of my favorite moments between friends, I think they stood out for those stunning scarves!

Hands up for all the Pav Baji lovers in the world? This is one of my fav easy go to at home street foods you can make with the last of the veggies in your fridge. It's basically mashed potatoes with peas, peppers and cauliflower but I sneak in carrot too. Adjust the amount of spice, heat up your bread rolls and lather on the ghee...mmmmm healthy! Obviously this was a Pav Baji wallah feeding the locals of Nalia village in Kutch.

What started as a couple of photos of street vendors soon turned into every street vendor in this village patiently waiting for me to take their store photo too. I could feel the pressure so I obliged ha ha. This vendor is selling the much loved Indian desserts like Barfi and other condensed milk treats.

With today being officially Eid I wanted to share a special video I took recently when travelling as part of @duroobtv. For those who tune into the show and share @askaliofficial adventures with their families and for those like me who are touched by the beautiful sounds of the Call to Prayer (Adhan). Mr Ali was invited by the village chief to do the Adhan when we filmed in Kutch, I missed the first prayer and asked him why he didn't tell us so we could film but he felt shy to include it (what?! I know right?!) so I decide to hang on the wall for his next prayer and catch this magical calling and share this for you all to appreciate.
