Before we we’re named “Puerto Rico” 🇵🇷 or in English “Rich Port” by the Spanish Conquistador “Juan Ponce de Leon” in 1508. Our Taino Ancestors named our land “Boriken” or The Land of the Great Lords. So when you hear Puerto Ricans saying that we are “Boricua” it’s because we are representing and showing homage the original name of our beautiful island 🏝❤️🇵🇷
