Let’s look into Kyoto’s autumn leaves collection!!
🍁The most seen Japanese maple leaves are called Iroha Momiji in Japanese.
The leaves are usually torn into 7 leaves, the width of the torn part is very narrow. The leaves have a jagged edge and the tips of each are sharp.
They turn into very bright red in the fall. There are also orange and yellow✨
🍁Sweetgum leaves have bigger leaves.
Amecian sweetgum usually split into 5 leaves and the same family sweetgum, formosa sweetgum, is three. Both leaves are much bigger than Japanese maple leaves.
🍁Trident maple is well seen in east asian countries. Originally native to China and they came to Japan in the 18th century.
🍁The most shining golden leaves are ginkgo trees.
🌸Although cherry blossom is known for its beautiful spring flowers, they are also known for its autumn foliage.
Their leaves are turn into complex patterns of red, yellow, and orange. It has a very fine jugged edge.
There are many more kinds of autumn leaves on different shapes and colors.
