Union Terminal Market opened to the public in February 1931. In 1962 however, the city banned the outdoor sale of meats and eggs which essentially killed the farmer’s market foot traffic. A new indoor market was built in 1967 (the building which is now the revitalized Union Market).

Today, more than 35 independent merchants and purveyors of food and drink operate within the Market, alongside a unique mix of small businesses, nationally recognized retail brands and highly rated restaurants located throughout the broader Union Market District. An open-air rooftop bar and green space with stunning 360-degree city views distinguishes Union Market District as a destination like no other.

BUT in being here, I learned that this preserved 1900s guest house is where died after being shot in across the street. Even though I didn't go into the theater because I didn't wanna pay, the Petersen House was free to enter because of this.

In 1922, the wrote, "no one has had more books devoted to the multifarious phases of his career and personality than Abraham Lincoln." Currently, there are over 15,000 books about Lincoln currently in print!

"In this temple as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever." Beneath these words, the 16th president of the United States sits immortalized in marble as an enduring symbol of unity, strength, and wisdom.

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, just as the Civil War was ending. By March of 1867, Congress incorporated the Lincoln Monument Association to build a memorial to the slain 16th president.

In this memorial, is depicted seated on a three-step bench of white granite. In its left hand, the figure holds a paper with mathematical equations summarizing three of Einstein's most important scientific contributions: the photoelectric effect, the theory of general relativity, and the equivalence of energy and matter.

The star map at the statue's base—a 28-foot field of emerald pearl granite from Larvik, Norway—is embedded with more than 2,700 metal studs representing the planets, sun, moon, stars, and other celestial objects accurately positioned by astronomers from the U.S. Naval Observatory as they were on the dedication date.

Interestingly enough, people claim to hear their echo if they speak while standing in the middle of the star map. Have you been there? Could you hear your echo?

The Presidential Booths at Martin's Tavern are what I recommend going to this 1933 family-owned tavern for. You can sit in the Rumble Seat (booth 1) where John F. Kennedy read his Sunday morning paper after Mass, to the Richard Nixon booth where he often dined on the tavern’s famous meatloaf as a senator and then vice president, or even in The Proposal both where John F. Kennedy proposed to Jackie Bouvier.

Other than being a house of prayer for all people, hosting presidential funerals, and being the site where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his last Sunday sermon, this 20th-century Gothic style cathedral also has a tiny piece of the moon embedded in the center of the red planet in the Space Window's upper half.

has a long history dating back to 1608, when English Colonial Settler Captain John Smith sailed from Jamestown up the Chesapeake Bay for a 19-day journey that ended with a voyage up the Patapsco River. It was there that Smith reported seeing “a great red bank of clay flanking a natural harbor basin.” Early Baltimore settlers referred to this “great red bank of clay” as “John Smith’s Hill”.

Today, overlooks the harbor, has a play area and an old cannon.

Buying a round trip flight is not always the smartest and cheapest option, sometimes a multi-city ticket or several one-ways turn out to be better.

Also, trying different websites and cross referencing prices is a great tip! My personal favorites include kiwi.com and skyscanner.com.
