Today we say so long to the ancient city of Ayutthaya, and board a van back to Bangkok, where we hop on a plane and fly south to a town and province called Surathani.

On the road to Ranong, there is a village of people of Chinese descent that specialize in dim sum (Chinese dumplings). About a mile long of steamer huts on both sides of the road, selling fresh delicious dumplings for cheap. I bought these shu-mai for $0.60!

Yummy pork and shrimp dumplings with crispy garlic and soy-ginger sauce!

When I finally arrive in Bangkok, I like to go for a mani- pedi, and a relaxing foot massage. I found this place across the street from my hotel. Very professional, clean and friendly.

It was an epic ride through Thailand! I had some interesting moments along the way, like making a fail while choosing not to ride the highway. I prefer the backroads, and that sometimes means making some mistakes. Backtracking, dirt roads, footpaths, 3 river crossings and NO bridges! Videos coming!

It's been nice visiting with old friends on Koh Samui. Good food, free muay thai, chill vibes, sausage and even a Louis Vuitton scooter seat (which I'm sure is authentic)😉

There are still some great deals, if you know how to find them! Check out the room I found for $10.86/night, (including taxes and fees), right on the river, near the floating market and train market...they even brought my dinner to my porch, and it was delicious!

The ride from pai to Chiang Dao was something unexpected and I will never forget it! I chose the wrong route for the bike. I made it though! You will have to catch the video on YouTube soon!

Pai is an old hippie backpacker's paradise that has a certain charm. The dumplings are delicious; the beer is cold; and there are random guys doing gardening, in the street, at 1am. I love this town! 😝

When traveling, try to get away from the fancy resorts and stay with a local family homestay or guesthouse. They are usually the sweetest, most kind and generous people that you will meet. You may have to forego some of the luxuries that you are used to, but you get so much more in return. Uncle fixes and builds, while auntie gathered eggs from the chickens, bananas from the tree, and picks vegetables from the organic garden. Mr. Jan's is a great place to stay, and costs less than $20/night withbreakfast...hard to beat!
