NEPTUNE GROUP'S £13M INVESTMENT DELIVERS RELIEF ROAD IN BALLYCLARE

The final section of the Ballyclare Relief Road has officially opened thanks to significant investment from leading UK regeneration and property development company, Neptune Group.

As part of their continued commitment to Ballyclare, Neptune Group has invested £13 million in this major infrastructure project, which in addition to delivering much needed improvements to the road network, will also see the creation of over 1,100 high quality, family homes in the area. Following the completion of construction works, representatives from Neptune Group were joined by local elected representatives to mark the official opening of the road on Friday 20 January 2023.

Shane Cooke, Property Director of Neptune Group, said:
'Neptune Group has been focussed on ensuring delivery of this major, privately funded infrastructure project since purchasing the land in 2015. The opening of this final section of the Ballyclare Relief Road completes our £13m investment in this project and will provide significant benefits to local residents in addition to the creation of exciting commercial opportunities which will further accelerate the revitalisation of this historic market town. We appreciate the support of the local community and elected representatives throughout the process, many of whom have been campaigning for this road since the 1980s.'

The road was officially opened by the Mayor of Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, Cllr Stephen Ross, who said:
“It was a proud moment to officially open the Ballyclare Relief Road, which has been needed for many years. Our thanks go to Neptune Group for their commitment to delivering this road which will benefit so many people across the Borough.”

NEPTUNE GROUP'S £6.5M INVESTMENT TO COMPLETE BALLYCLARE RELIEF ROAD BY AUTUMN 2022

Neptune Group has announced plans to complete the final phase of the Ballyclare Relief Road by the end of 2022. Our further £6.5m investment in the project, bringing the total investment to £11m, will deliver significant improvements to the town’s existing road infrastructure as well as the addition of over 700 high quality residential properties in a prime location on the western
outskirts of the town.

It is anticipated that the scheme will create over 150 jobs during the construction phase, which commenced in early September 2021.

Speaking about the Group’s ambitious plans in Ballyclare, Neptune Group’s Property Director Shane Cooke commented:
‘In challenging economic conditions, we are delighted to
confirm this major investment in Ballyclare and the delivery on the commitment we made to work with our partners and key stakeholders to create the infrastructure that will enable this
historic market town to thrive. We are confident that the completion of this key link road along with the provision of high specification, contemporary homes will help accelerate the
revitalisation of the town for the local community and create commercial opportunities for local businesses.’

The much-anticipated completion of the relief road will deliver transformational improvements to the roads infrastructure of the town, addressing traffic congestion problems that have affected the town centre for many years. It will also contribute
significantly to the continued regeneration and further development of Ballyclare for residents and local businesses.

PLANS FOR 1,300 NEW HOMES AND £12m MOTORWAY LINK APPROVED FOR LISBURN

Neptune Group is delighted to announce that outline planning approval has been granted for its Blaris project in Lisburn.

A residential development of more than 1,300 homes has been approved either side of the Maze/Long Kesh site, Balmoral Park and in the vicinity of Blaris. A new £12m road linking the M1 to Knockmore Road has also been given the go-ahead, together with permission in principle for 750,000 sqft of commercial floor space. Around 9,000 jobs will be created over the next 20 years.

The master plan for the neighbourhood will also see the creation of a riverside park alongside the Lagan, with attractive landscaped and woodland walkways connecting to a range of new housing.

A 200-bed hotel, community hub of local shops and other facilities will also be included, following the realignment and upgrade to Blaris Road.

An additional £500,000 will be awarded to Translink with the aim of creating a new park and ride system.

The link is scheduled to be complete before the summer of 2023.

The project was split into two major applications for outline permission which Lisburn and Casltereagh's planning committee considered for over three hours before coming to a decision.

Speaking in favour of the £250m project, Lagan Valley MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, who joined the meeting remotely, said the proposal had "enormous commercial benefits" for Lisburn in the long term.

He added: "For me the biggest aspect that we are talking about today is the link road and the potential that it creates for the city of Lisburn."
