Sad to say, it seems many of the other airlines are following the downward spiral. Had a nice visit out west last week, but this time, Alaska Airlines decided to cancel my flight home due to " personnel issues". When I asked the nice woman at check in, she told me that Horizon, which is a sister co of Alaska, and the actual carrier performing the first leg of my flight, pulled the flight crew to use on another flight. And cancelled our flight all together. And would not be able to get me on a flight till the next day. This seems to be occurring more & more. I let them know this was unacceptable, and that I had to be back to work the next day. They did get ma a red eye flight on.....yep, American Airlines. Of course instead of landing at 10:45 PM the evening of the flight I paid for, I now landed at 9:45 the next morning. They did offer to fly me to tow other airports 3 hours away from where I parked my vehicle at my original airport. Of course I refused that offer. So I bit the bullet, and took the red eye. I must give credit where credit is due, as American did get me home, and without any problems. It would be nice if airlines were held accountable for their ineptness to provide the services they are paid for. And yes, I was charged the full price for the red eye, when I paid more for the original flight. At this point, it is my opinion that ALL airlines are sinking in quality of services & customer relations.
