Review of the brand-new Disney Treasure!!
There is way too much to go over in one post, so I will focus on the small touches and what makes this ship different than the Wish.
1- The Coco show. This is an immersive dinner musical experience. There was an exceptional Mariachi band. This group has only been together for 3 months, but they are professional Mariachi players (not ones trained by Disney). They also have Coco, Hector and the grandma as characters. It is an emotional experience with beautiful dancing and voices. The ofrenda is stunning with such great attention to detail. We got to meet the voice of Miguel and the producer of the show!! Loved their insights to the space. I found this much better than the Frozen experience on the Wish.
The fish and salsa here were not great, but the enchiladas and specialty Mexican drinks were spot on.
2- 1923- We experienced the new menu. The first night will be the same as on the Wish and then second is new. I did not like the 2nd menu as much (read- no filet). My fish was good but the lobster was mediocre.
3- Marvel. We found this to be the best food onboard. We each ordered something different and were VERY impressed. I also like how the machine in the center of the table is used to play games and keep the kids engaged.
4- The shows
Beauty and the Beast- same as on the Dream, which won Tony awards.
Seas the Adventure- great if your kids like characters
Moana- WOW!! So impressed! The grandma and Moana were perfection. Funny, loveable, beautiful voices and emotional. Maui was tough since who can beat the Rock!?!? But, get there early for good seats. The quality of the staff was the best of any Disney ship!
5- Haunted Mansion parlor- LOVED this!! We went multiple times! Get the secret drink. Flip the menu sideways and the secret drink is revealed. No reservations needed at this time, but they do have time limits. The detail here is mind blowing! We got to meet the lady who helped design the Haunted Mansion ride with Walt himself! She did the wallpaper!! Must get the kids drinks there as well. You swirl the drinks for the ghosts to "materialize."
6- Skipper Society- fun decor. Great live music. The space should be larger. Drinks just "ok."
7- Periscope pub- great place for wings and pretzels. Check out the ceiling. This is a good getaway. Kids allowed but overall, a more adult space.
8- There are two cast members onboard who do spoofs of movies as a comedy skit and some interactive family games throughout the ship- I believe they are called Coriander and Sage. They were fabulous!! Hilarious, interactive and just quality actors! This far surpasses having the Fairy Godmother on the Wish. They do adult shows, family games and stage shows in the atrium. Go to everything they do as often as possible!! MUST DO!
9- Service. This was a preview cruise, so there are going to be quirks. It was the least impressive head server we have had but our assistant was great. There is going to be a lot of turnover (interestingly, many cast members contracts are up this month), so sit tight. For the first month, it may feel a bit off. But, it was not enough to ruin any of our experiences.
10- Lounges. MUST DO the S**t Cat lounge. Check out the $$$ cat drink. We don't like cats. We don't d**k much, but my husband HAD to have these cat glasses to bring home. The drink was such high quality that I felt like a million bucks even though I drank both for the two of us in addition to trying out the tea drinks, Haunted Mansion drinks and more all in the name of necessary "research." The pianists were great. Such a relaxing and upscale adult experience on board.
11- Spa. The Rainforest room is a great escape. There is only ONE hot tub onboard, and it gets crowded. So, with this you have a serene kid-free escape with a sun deck, hot tubs, sauna, ice room and more. Highly recommended.
12- Suites. OMG!!! Wow! I will likely never see these again. Hot tubs on the balconies, two stories, chandeliers straight out of an opera house, fabulous details, amazing views and overall, just jaw dropping. From 1-3 bedrooms and the Tower Suite has fun bunk beds for the kids. Fully stocked fridges, wine fridge and priority for everything.
Things that are the same as the Wish: Kids clubs, pools, food on the pool deck, Hero Zone, the Rose, Enchante, Palo, Hooks Barbery, the Cove, the overall layout, concierge spaces and the spa
I am sure there is more I am not thinking of right now. Feel free to ask any questions while it is still fresh.
Overall, I have been in each and every Disney ship, many multiple times. I can honestly say this was my favorite due to the quality of the spaces, how the adult spaces are worked into the main areas, quality of the shows and dinners.
The Wish is beautiful, but this ship was both beautiful and extra FUN! The focus on adventure and treasure brought the whole experience to a new level.
