We love singing …It’s a Small World!

Thanksgiving Trip 2021: Our first stop was at the San Jose Mission. It was absolutely beautiful. We walked in and there were 4 monks practicing music for Sunday. Jim and I started talking with them. On Sunday, a fellow brethren has his final vow to become a priest. Here’s a small part of their Gregorian Chant.

Thanksgiving Trip 2021:After touring the Air Museum we went to see the Missions. San Antonio has 5 famous missions. Our first stop was at the San Jose Mission. It was absolutely beautiful. We walked in and there were 4 monks practicing music for Sunday. Jim and I started talking with them. On Sunday, a fellow brethren has his final vow to become a priest. I gave them cords on the piano and sang Amazing Grace with them.

Thanksgiving Trip 2021 : San Antonio has 5 missions. We are planning on spending time in each mission. At the Mission Concepcion there was a girl singing. Jim and I started singing harmony with her. She was surprised! She finished and we said sing again. She said I’ll sing if you join me up here. I did! What a blessing to sing Silent Night in a 290 year old mission! An elderly man left crying and said he comes there to pray and tonight he was led there to hear us sing! My heart was touched! The girl was from Colorado and was there with her family. I can’t remember her name but we hugged after the song knowing it was a unique moment in time!

I had the great experience of playing the 1901 Steinway Piano in the Houmas House! I loved it! This is the piano that was played in the movie Hush Sweet Charlotte.
