We are back! The Undead 5K: The Zombie Apocalypse is scheduled for October 25 at Kingswood Park in Mason. We will be posting here when we have updates or news about the Undead 5K.
Runners traverse 5 kilometers of Zombie infested terrain. No worries, all the Zombies want to do is eat your brains and feast on your flesh. The course will challenge you with choices that may affect your survival. Do you have the wits and fitness to survive?
The object is to survive and cross the finish line with your "health" intact.
Finisher medals will be given to all finishers, alive or dead. Custom and unique awards are given to the top 3 survivors in in each age group.
This is not an obstacle or "mud" run. Avoiding Zombies and making correct choices to get to the finish line as quickly as possible is what this race is all about.
Runners will be issued 3 flags to wear on a belt. The flags represent your "health". As long as you have one flag you are still “alive". There will be "medical" stations on the course where you can get back a flag and so avoid becoming a Zombie.
The object is to cross the finish line - anyway you can - with at least one flag and YOU HAVE SURVIVED!
If the Zombies get your flags, well, your dead. You may have a chance to get another flag at one of our health stations or you can finish the race as part of the Undead.
There will be two finish divisions, those who have survived and who will be eligible for age group awards, and the Undead, who will still get their time.
All registrants receive a T-shirt and Finisher Medal.
Bring the kids! Kids under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult.
Please feel free to wear a costume of your choice. In deference to our Zombies, whose feelings are very sensitive, please do not wear a Zombie costume.
The Undead 5K will start in waves, with the first wave starting at 8:00am.
Packet pickup will be on Friday, October 24 from 4-7pm and again on Race Day at 6am at Kingswood Park.
