Yesterday, I wrote a new article about my favourite beach in Thailand: Surin Beach on Phuket island.
Why do I love this beach? Surin Beach is never crowded. As you can see in these photos, taken at the height of the tourist season, I caught shots without people. This is almost impossible on the more popular beaches of Patong, Karon or Kata.
I plan to publish photos of Surin Beach this week. It is the perfect Phuket beach for those who love a quiet, calm holiday on a beautiful beach.

Is Thailand expensive? Let me give you an example. The photo shows a menu at a tourist café on the beach. Some might choose fish with rice for 350 baht (about 10 USD) or opt for lobster at 1350 baht (around 40 USD). Others might venture a bit further from the beach and enjoy fried rice with chicken for just 80 baht (approximately 3 USD). Ultimately, you have the freedom to decide how costly your vacation in Thailand will be. 😉

Living in Thailand for several years, I discovered countless culinary delights, but nothing quite compares to the joy of savoring a freshly made Thai banana pancake from a street vendor. Today let's talk about funny wild monkeys in Sri Lanka.
And this is a serious topic. Look at their teeth and claws. These are wild animals that are used to fighting for food, territory or authority among their relatives.
Avoid teasing wild monkeys or trying to get close for photos. They can bite or seriously scratch you.
This doesn't mean wild monkeys are bad. It's just their habit to defend themselves.

In Istanbul, Turkish coffee is served in such exquisite dishes in a cafe near the Grand Bazaar.

Not all beaches in Thailand match up to advertised images with beautiful palm trees and snow-white sand.
And that's even good. Such modest beaches can be the place for enjoy the sunset away from the crowds of tourists.

Today I bring to your attention a far from ideal Sunset Beach on Koh Lipe.

It is not for swimming, not for sunbathing, not for walking. There are other Koh Lipe beaches for these tasks. Sunset Beach is good for enjoying the sunset while sitting on the coastal rocks.

In Thailand, water spinach is grown on any piece of land. In the photo you can see what such a garden with water-based spinach might look like. The most popular dish made from this plant is Phat phak b**g.

Phat phak b**g is a Thai dish that consists of stir-fried water morning glory (also known as Chinese water spinach or ong choy) with garlic, chilies, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. It is a simple and quick dish that can be made in a very hot wok.

• Break 200 g of water morning glory into 10-15 cm long pieces and place in a large bowl.

• Use a mortar and pestle to pound 2 cloves of garlic and 2 fresh red chilies to a rough paste.

• Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok over high heat. When oil is smoking hot, add the water morning glory and chili paste and toss together.

• Add 1 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 0,5 tablespoon of fish sauce, and 0,5 teaspoon of sugar. Stir-fry until just wilted.

• Serve hot with steamed rice.
