Here are some travel tips I learned and some lessons to never do again:
1. Never ever fly on the same day as the cruise. I wasn’t able to fly in the day before due to work but I would made 1000% more effort next time to arrive at least a day before. Our flights were postponed by 7 hours the day off and we would’ve missed the cruise without refund. Even if you have a trip insurance depending on coverage and how you booked it, you could end up without a recourse. Miraculously we found the last seats booked and had to fly into another airport, and Uber to the cruise port just in the nick of time. Not only it was stressful but it was very expensive. So do whatever you can to avoid this situation by any means possible.
2. No matter how short is the cruise, booking a sea view balcony is worth it. Watching the sunrise/sunset daily off the balcony is and a great balance to find while cruising. No smoking allowed on balcony though and common courtesy just like in any shared space applies.
3. Book your shore excursions in advance including transfer to avoid long lines and wasting your time negotiating as you typically only have 5-6 hours to spend in most ports. If you can, book private and they will save you a ton of time waiting in lines and get to see more things within that timeframe. Most Cruiseline’s tours are conducted in motor coach busses 40-50 people and we passed several of them who have been standing in lines for 30+ minutes. It’s definitely worth it and some offer a guaranteed back to the ship.
4. Don’t ever get into waters without knowing the local customs and conditions. Some of the crocodiles in swim in salt water during certain times and the last thing you need is wildlife spotting in unexpected circumstances 😅
Knowing which beach to choose from is also key. Some are better for some are better for and of course, some are better for partying.

Not a bad day at “the office” 😅 this place is amazing. We were skeptical as it’s located beachfront right next to a place that usually has more of a spring break mtv gone wild vibe. However, we were pleasantly surprised and so glad we went 🙌.
Live music beachfront and the food is simply incredible. Service was great and fast. They also make small batches limited tequila resposado every year and without any additives so the flavor is amazing (sipper tequila not for shots).
Must try and reservation is highly recommended.

The view of the moon over the water was the cherry on top.

Watersports rental is available as well, we’ll be coming back for sure! Note they do close for a couple of months every year so be sure to check in advance and make smart travel arrangements so you’re not missing out.

Never been so happy to be tested positive for a vacation. Much needed.

While there are older restaurants, Restaurante Botin receives the designation as the world’s oldest according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It earns the distinction as it’s been in the original building and has continuously operated since its founding in 1725. It was opened by French cook Jean Botin and his Asturian wife.
It’s been visited by many renowned authors such as Ernest Hemingway, Graham Greene, and James A. Michener.
In addition to serving lunch and dinner cooked in the original 1725 oven, such as roasted lamb or suckling pig, the restaurant offers guided tours. They reveal the underground tunnels, the four dining rooms, the cellar, and more.
Definitely a must see if you ever explore to
