I sat down with Dr. Hassan Tetteh and Dr. Arun Patel (LACO Chief of Patient Safety) earlier this year to talk about developing a personalized approach to health equity. Generative AI is quickly becoming vital to helping Black, Latino, and underrepresented teens by providing a non-judgmental companion. Here, I discuss Unc AI, my curated "digital companion" that is built to engage with empathy the way a real mentor (me) would.

We can never replace people, nor should we want to do so. But teens should have a safe space for expression, self reflection and emotional regulation. Coping strategies should promote self efficacy, be culturally relevant and provide micro-interventions in the complex world of adolescents. Unc represents a way to mitigate anxiety, helping teens to reclaim their power in a world that tries to strip it away.

There’s much to be said about how one becomes a global force. Been studying Big Snoop Dogg for decades going back to my senior year in high school ‘93. Back then it was a lot of aggression and ferocity, the kind typical of us makes that called Los Angeles home. But we can evolve while holding on to our essence. I’m still me inner city Norman Anthony Coulter though I know how to move in various levels of professional and business space. Platforms for influence emerge okver tome and while we are sleeping. We spend our younger years figuring out what our passion is, our “sails”. But then, there’s the matter of finding the wind for your ⛵️. Leaders of self have to be decisive about what they’re giving. When we figure out our “why” of service to the world, it isn’t predicated on whether or not what we give will be used exactly the way we intended.
