I first began crafting as a young child, when I would happily sit for hours with paper scissors cutting up old catalogues and magazines and sticking images together to make pictures. Birthdays and Christmas would often bring gifts of painting by numbers; pin art; mould and paint plaster figure kits; and other such ‘kit in a box’ products. I later started to paint pebbles collected on holidays and

I also enjoyed drawing, sewing, cross-stitching and making basic greetings cards for my family – the usual girlie stuff. As I grew older, so the accessibility, variety and quality of materials available improved, as did my ability and confidence. I began to experiment with different fabrics, papers, parchments and colouring mediums and created more elaborate and detailed card designs and gifts, again for family and friends. Following a number of compliments and suggestions, and with the encouragement of some of my family, I decided to make my cards more widely available.

Cards by Knight has been more of a ‘Crafts by Knight over recent weeks. Now that gifts have been given to the respective recipients, I can share the ’Exploding Sewing Box’ and the ‘Clutch Bag Nail Kit’. Really enjoyed doing something a bit different.

Not cards this time…. Latest creation is an elephant cat toy, complete with catnip. Monty seems to enjoy it, Hugo just wants to lie on it!! Photos in the comments as couldn’t upload photos and videos!

I may have not posted much recently, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy creating. Over the past month I’ve made a wedding cake for a 60th anniversary and a wedding car for a forthcoming wedding.

It has been really good to be able to do some ‘me’ crafting for a special member of my family. Yesterday, beautiful Stacey married the love of her life, Gersh and I was honoured to be able to join them as they tied the knot and afterwards to celebrate in the usual family fashion. They were both delighted with the chapel keepsake I made for them. I wish them a lifetime of health and happiness in their life together as husband and wife 💕💕💕

Two dozen flowers made this evening. Tried them with some ready cut petals rather than cutting them myself in order to save some time, but relatively pleased with how they have come out.

Having completed 4 flower wheelbarrow orders for Mother’s Day, I decided to make something a bit different to send to my own mum. Hope she likes it! 💕

Latest creation.... this one caused me no end of difficulties but I persevered and ended up with something I’m relatively happy with. Thankfully the person who ordered it was over the moon with it. Hoping I don’t end up having to make too many more of this one! 😂

Continued with the flower arranging yesterday and now have both wheelbarrows complete. The boxes will be made next followed by the gift tags. I really do enjoy making these.

Another first, though I suspect I may end up making a few of these.... perfect for special birthdays and for people with a love of gardening! Certainly gave my flower arranging skills a test, but really happy with how this turned out.

I don’t get many requests for platinum (70th) wedding anniversary keepsakes, but it was an absolute pleasure to make this one and I’m delighted that the intended recipients were thrilled with what I created. 💕

Lots of orders have come in over the last few days. They will be keeping me busy and out of trouble for the next few weeks and months. I’m very grateful for the support I’ve had with my crafting adventures over the years and the continued faith of my customers in my ability to create new and bespoke keepsakes from the most basic of requests. I thank each and every one of you 💕

Cars now available in small and large sizes and come boxed. Modification made to enclose the boot as I wasn’t very happy with the open version on the large prototype shown in the photos. £10 for small, £15 for large. As these take some time to create, early ordering is essential, particularly if requesting a specific colour.

The first order of the year has been collected ready to go off to the intended recipient. Really happy with how it looks in the presentation box. Although there’s quite a bit of work that goes into them, I think they make a lovely keepsake for someone having a baby.

Do you have a family member or friend who has a special birthday coming up or know someone who’s taking their driving test and want something different to congratulate them when they pass? Maybe you know someone who just likes old style cars! This is the first attempt and I already have a couple of things in mind to refine this further and improve the design. They will come in a presentation box that will match the colour of the car. Can be made in a variety of colours. Why not even add a floral display and some ribbons and have a wedding keepsake with a difference?

I’ve not done a huge amount of crafting lately so it’s been a pleasure to make one of my baby cots over the last week. I also now have a few new keepsakes to construct, with test models being prepared over the next few weeks. First one didn’t take too long tonight. I need to decide on embellishments and final card choices to make it a finished article and it will, of course, come with a presentation box, but relatively happy with the first attempt.

I love it when I’m pretty much given free reign on a card or keepsake and I can get my thinking cap on and get the creative juices flowing. This time, a good friend asked me to create something for her son’s first birthday and her only guide was that they call him a little monkey. So, after a bit of a ponder I decided on a toy box in a room with a cuddly monkey climbing out and some other toys around him. The other toys in the box were made from Fimo clay, and I made some stacking blocks with 1 on the top block to represent his birthday. I know I’m always my own worst critic am I always see something I think I could improve on, but overall I’m really pleased with how it turned out and thankfully Jenny was equally happy. The only part that was not made by me was the monkey.... cheated on that but!!
